If we permit Trump to go down his chosen path—if we permit him to lead us down this path—the legacy will be one not just of policy failure but of national dishonor.
The Danger and Foolishness of Trump’s Foreign Policy

Trading the Nobel Peace Prize to the president of the United States so he’ll militarily install you as president of your country seems a bit contrary to its intended purpose

You can't make me afraid. Immigrants. They commit crimes 10x less than citizens. I don't fear them.
Drugs? Oh please, you want to tell me it's ok to buy 10 gallons of vodka but not a joint? I don't fear them.
The only thing I truly fear in 2026 are the Evangelical Christians and their faux leader.

There was a right wing film critic puffing his chest out on Twitter a few years ago like he was a Hemingway character. I told him "what are you doing? I sat next to you at the New York Film Critics' Circle dinner and you couldn't cut your chicken cutlet without getting winded."

MacCALLUM: You have about 100,000 dying from drug overdoses, most of those drugs from from Venezuela and other places

CROW: That's actually not true. The majority of the deaths by drugs in America are the result of meth and fentanyl. Almost none of that comes from Venezuela

this is small comfort given he has state power and i don’t but i am struck by what an obviously weak and fragile man miller is. a blubbering piss baby whose entire affect and personality is an attempt to make up for his profound feelings of inadequacy
MILLER: The US is using its military to secure our interests unapologetically in our hemisphere. We're a superpower. It's absurd we'd allow a nation in our backyard to become a supplier of resources to our adversaries

TAPPER: Sovereign countries shouldn't be able to do what they want?

A nontrivial percentage of the American electorate cares more about social hierarchy and dominating outgroups than overall economic wellbeing.
Unless the Democrats recover at least some of their identity as a working-class party, the Republicans will own that demo by default.

Many of us advised that MAGA was a movement based on racial superiority. We were told that we were wrong.
Prominent MAGA figures are making it 100% explicit that MAGA is a neo-imperialist movement that's all about pillage and plunder justified by assumed racial superiority:

Just another tired attempt to reestablish colonialism. Extract wealth from nonwhites for white US elites. They’ll find out the hard way that we’re no longer in the 1800s. The negative consequences for Trump’s foolish foreign policy will be painful and long lasting for the US elites.

No, there is no basis under 10 USC 1370(f) to reduce retired grade based on post-retirement conduct. This attempt to seize ~11% of Kelly's retirement pay will fail, and in the process infuriate most of the retired officer corps.

If he gets Greenland, he will then be serious about Canada. And even if he doesn't invade Toronto, he'll go after the Arctic islands and maybe all the territories. We all know exactly how this works.

You know how Republicans treat Trump's ramblings? They ignore them! Or actively defend them!

The fact that Biden passed the Green New Deal in all but name and the most progressive climate advocates decided to smear him over it was truly blackpilling to me.

Rather than "this was a great start, let's keep going", the online advocacy claimed it was worse than nothing.
Biden actually did a lot of shit that internet lefty types said for years would cause a massive swell of support for Democratic policies and by the end of Biden's term everyone hated it and no one was particularly interested in defending him personally or the policy regime he put in place
If you want Democrats to start acting like Republicans, then Democratic voters/supporters are going to have to start acting like Republican voters/supporters, and that means not nit-picking every single word that comes out of Dems' mouths when there are much bigger issues to message about.

I've been saying it for at least a year now: the Democrat who comes closest to promising Nuremberg trials for Trump and all his fascist cronies WILL have the best chance of winning the 2028 primaries. It's not the only important issue, but I think it's the one the electorate WANTS most.
There is a gigantic need of anti-Trumpers for catharsis and the Dem congressional leadership isn't really providing it, possibly because that isn't something congressional leaders can do.

However, it is a strategic folly to dismiss this need, especially before normies are paying attention.
