Tax lesson for today: In 2024 our family business chose to spend as little money as possible with Amazon. I reduced money going to Bezos from $9,200 in 2024 to $481 in 2025. My goal this year is to get that to zero. #yourdollaryourvote #downwithamazon #nomorebillionaires

I love when science blows my mind. I’ve never been an ethanol fan, but this statistic really drives the argument to stop subsidizing corn farmers to create a fuel additive that reduces our fuel efficiency and harms many older and small engines.
Next time someone asks you about energy and land use, maybe remind them that the ~35 million acres that currently grow corn for ethanol in the US could produce ~15 PWh per year of electricity from solar photovoltaics. That's ~3.5 times more than *total annual generation from all US power plants*.

What an amazing night for the Aurora in Juneau, Alaska. It was some of the best I’ve seen here and my teenage daughter got to see a good show for the first time. She said it was like dancing with spirits, soaring and frolicking across vast distances of sky.

Aurora in Juneau, Alaska, 1/20/26. At 5:15 a.m. I woke up my 13-year-old. We went outside and stood, awestruck as the shapes danced and pulsated above our heads. We marveled at how small and connected we both felt to universe. It was a beautiful way to start the day.

This could be one of the best nights for Aurora since the massive solar storm of 1989. This solar flare has the potential to impact power grids, wireless service, GPS, and other electrical devices.

There’s a reason that protests against Alaska Senator Dan Sullivan are rare. It’s because Dan hides from publicly addressing his constituents in any number vs meeting people who are screened to be agreeable or have money or resources they’re willing to trade.
