you know, if you put enough sugar in this stuff, it tastes just like ginger ale
I nibbled on WAKE UP DEAD MAN and matters of faith in yesterday’s newsletter; here’s a full-course meal, and it’s wonderful
I think @rianjohnson.bsky.social made WAKE UP DEAD MAN just for people like me (angry exvangelicals who still find value in Jesus’ teaching even though the Church is really bad at living those teachings out, bonus points if you like U2). Paired it with CONCLAVE in my latest column @bwdr.bsky.social
Double Features: Wake Up Dead Man and Conclave
Wake Up Dead Man and Conclave depict faith at work in a world that’s dark and growing darker. Both films hold faith up to the light and ask: In times like these, what are the faithful to do?

I would still like to staff on a television show btw. A live action half hour comedy would be very good. Or a WGA covered adult animated half hour. Just saying!!!!! thanks

Remember that boycotts aren't just about getting changes. They are also about your own conscience. If a boycott doesn't change anything at the company, you can still not support them. I'm quite sure that Coca-cola doesn't care that I don't buy their products, but I care, so I don't support them.

To be clear: action packed, crass, hilarious hang out with weirdos is the highest compliment from me, but I’m trying to get across to the highbrows that this show about a jacked douchebag loser in a superhero costume is one of the most emotionally resonant and overtly political shows of our moment.

I tend not to eulogize most folks On Here, because it’d be a full time feed. People die, that’s the ticket. But it’s breaking my brain to imagine we live in a post-Redford art form as of today.

BlueSky Moderation has absolutely failed us as a community.
💀
You've allowed this target hit piece to remain up, it is blatantly lies, slander and puts the trans community at higher risk.
💀
Your moderation team has again and again demonstrated that they are not fit for the job before them.

If you're as angry as I am about how our trans brothers & sisters were treated this week, remember that not all of them got the loving parents we did & end up on the streets. Maybe today is a great day to donate to a local shelter & give trans kids a roof over their heads and the love they deserve.
