Economists are writing mountains of books in which they describe the diverse manifestations of monopoly, and continue to declare in chorus that “Marxism is refuted.” But facts are stubborn things, as the English proverb says, and they have to be reckoned with, whether we like it or not.

This explains why consumer boycotts are dubious. Such activities are good at shifting narratives but the bourgeoisie and labor aristocracy (mostly global north proletariat) are the only ones with enough income to be discerning about their spending habits. Material impact is too limited already
#WolffBites: The biggest threat to US capitalism is this inequality: 20% richest do 59% of total consumer spending that keeps economy going, but poorest 80% do only 41% of spending. Capitalism keeps producing the inequality that destroys it.

There's a part here about how an old Marxist scholar wasn't impressed by him and honestly same lol. If you aren't applying historical materialism your analysis sucks, man. Just another Duhring.

One of the most evil Americans alive. Trump doesn't come even remotely close to her level of bloodthirst yet.
Hillary Clinton blames TikTok and “totally made up” videos for young people’s views on Israel and Palestine.

She says social media influenced “not just the usual suspects” but also “young Jewish Americans who don’t know the history and don’t understand.”

Every time a socialist country falls there is another round of brutal primitive accumulation

I often think about how some of the first properties in Blackstone’s portfolio were public housing in eastern Germany that had been privatized
The collapse of the Soviet Union coincided with the accumulation of capital into private hands. It isn’t that different from the effects of enclosure and industrialization had in England.

Funnily enough, this is the contradiction of democratic socialism. Within our current juridical framework you actually can’t abolish private property. You don’t have to worry about it cause it’s impossible without revolution
Kelly Loeffler: "This is gonna be a crisis in the city of New York, to have a communist in there talking about seizing the means of production ... this is the face of Democrat Party now, and you saw that with everyone coming and bowing to him."
