Portland protests are largely white. And they have still managed to be at the forefront of direct action—not “just marches”—during the entirety of the Trump era of politics. Trump sent DHS goons to Portland in 2020.

Let white feminists show how far they are willing to go. You can make suggestions.

I have full faith that when the numbers are needed to break this lawless administration once and for all that nonwhite people will show up. Now is the time for white people to demonstrate that they can be counted on.

I distinctly remember being told after the election by nonwhite people, particularly black women, that it was time for white people to show up and do that work. They were right. Nonwhite people resting doesn’t mean they don’t support. It’s dangerous right now and white people have the least risk.

The other day I had pointed out that a number of folks have the (valid, I think) criticism that No Kings skews a little too White Feminist, much like the “pink hats” marches did. As proof that I was wrong, a few days later I’m being scolded for that opinion by saying I didn’t post about it enough. 🤷🏽‍♂️

they really hate this one. of course they compared it to those who crucified jesus. because jesus made his feelings on this very clear.

To the Editor:

I am one of these so-called profoundly autistic people this article describes. I cannot utter meaningful speech, and as a result, I was branded for years as someone with an intellectual disability and an IQ of 40. All this time, however, I understood everything that was going on around me. I just could not show it to others because of my deranged relationship with my own body.
I am concerned about the creation of a separate category, called profound autism, for those of us with the most severe disabilities. There are real differences between the sort of autism that I have and so-called Asperger's syndrome. But it does not help us at all to impose a hierarchy of lower and higher functioning. We need to figure out how to tap into the skills and insights of those of us who cannot talk, who make up anywhere from 25-40% of the autistic community, depending on the estimate.
For me, the way out of this dilemma was learning to communicate by typing. I suddenly went from being seen as intellectually impaired to taking college classes. I was never low-functioning, and neither are my autistic brothers and sisters without the ability to speak. I was just misjudged and ignored, and I fear that my fate will be the fate of many others termed low-functioning in this new schema.

In the Revolution, the patriots were the pro-community, anti-government side. They wanted more immigration, troops out of American cities, and the tariffs off the imports. For the good of the country.

exactly. a cousin recommended using ChatGPT to me recently. i told her i find it unreliable and that it’s hard to see sometimes unless it’s an area where you have some expertise.

i often say that all politicians are performers. it’s what they have to do to get elected. some are better at it than others. it doesn’t mean they’re not genuine (though many aren’t); it just means they are always on that stage.

reagan was an actual actor. that’s why he still has a cult following.
