We’ve exceeded 72k signatures. As some of our media and politicians push a more harmful narrative, others are pushing back. This is a groundswell of compassion from everyday women for the trans, intersex and nonbinary community.

Please keep sharing with friends and family 🙏

Dear God... Where are we going, what are we doing?

Somehow calling it GBeebies doesn't seem funny anymore. It's not the teletubbies, it's a far-right propaganda channel.

For all the BBC's many faults, we need it more than ever...

I’m currently writing an article about Plymouth synagogue, the oldest Ashkenazi synagogue in the English-speaking world, for Jane Austen’s Regency World magazine. Part of my intent is to show how much the story of Jewish history is the story of British history and vice versa. We are not separate.

Huge respect for Robin Ince. It absolutely sucks that he had to resign, that the BBC and others can’t see what he sees - the othering and demonisation of innocent people, the cruelty that is being inflicted. We should all be more like Robin - standing up for fairness, for kindness, for others
Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

Why is Wes Streeting picking over the number of autism and ADHD diagnoses when he should be focusing on why our systems of work, education and care are still so closed off to the people who get them? Well said ⁦‪@johnharris‬⁩1969.bsky.social

Thankfully, we now know more about conditions such as autism and ADHD. The health secretary must not be part of this attempt to turn back the clock, says Guardian columnist John Harris

Here we have it, Alex Norris, the Border Security and Asylum Minister, talking about deporting UK born children to countries they may never have been to, and how Labour is "ramping up the appetite" for such horrific removals. This is far beyond the last government. 78/

The average waiting list time in West Wales for an ADHD dx is anecdotally estimated to be 55 years. But sure, Wes, any distraction from the fact doctors are about to go on strike again eh?
The deliberate framing of the review as "over-pathologisation" will continue - and worsen - the policy failure around mental health services.

In the UK it takes 10 years on average to receive a bipolar diagnosis. It took 19 years for me.
Labour picking up where the Tories left off, looking to restrict diagnoses so they can deny people support and force them into work.

With no disrespect to this program at all, once a certain strategy has been tested literally hundreds of times around the globe and delivered unambiguously positive results, shouldn't we stop calling it a pilot?
An Oregon pilot program giving cash to homeless youths sees a staggering reduction in homelessness. The program gave participants $1,000 cash payments each month for two years, and at the end of the project's first phase, 91% of participants reported being in stable housing.

Imagine if bigoted billionaires and privileged ‘gender critical’ transphobes with the ear of the right-wing media had put their money and energy into lobbying about *this* - rather than obsessing over banning a handful of trans girls and elderly trans women from Girl Guides & the WI!?? 😣😤
More than a QUARTER of police forces in England and Wales still haven’t implemented basic policies for investigating sexual offences.

It’s like they don’t care. It’s scandalous, but it’s borne out by the experiences of so many women – women like Nina Cresswell.
