Something i would like folks to understand about the police raid on Westminster Quaker Meeting House. The right wingers thinking its a slam dunk to correct folks about it 'not being a meeting for worship, it was a room hire'
They are wrong, and its ignorance of Quakers, their history and praxis.

"Anas Sarwar did that, for us?! 😍"

A genuine thought Rachel Reeves expects to cross the minds of Scottish voters.
I wonder how Reeves expected that comment about Scotland to go down in, you know, Scotland

Today's UK budget could have delivered for people and planet by taking on the rich and powerful.

But that's not what it did. 👇

20% on people who say "Going on my Holibobs!"
So like VAT but anti-VAT, they have no value, and deserve a tax.
An additional 500% tax on people who stand in the middle of the escalators/walkway/general area of Waverley Station.
An additional 340% tax on people who say "yep, all day" when you ask them to confirm the correct date

If I had a nickel for every time someone said they were a progressive but “had reasonable concerns” then just repeated conservative propaganda on a topic, I’d have way more than two fucking nickels, I’d be a goddamn billionaire.

I am staggered that this is allowed.
I am a recovering addict. Clean for 20+ years now.
One of the things i am so grateful for was that my addiction was drugs. Gambling addiction is a pernicious, evil killer of entire families.
Sometimes I find it genuinely hard to tell if this woman is an MP or if she works in PR for the gambling industry.

Reeves just announced she is going to ramp up the abuse of disabled people with more pointless gaslighting and appeals for access to the pittance that is UC/PIP for the disabled. We know its ideological, the UN already said it contravenes human rights.

"more face-to-face meetings for determining disability benefits"

Reeves wants to do MORE catastrophically costly and cruel ATOS nonsense. Its been proven to be inhumane and not make any savings, the UN called it ideologically driven harm.

I really wish my first thought hadn't been that actor lass from the NXIVM cult who was given the punishment of having to sleep on the floor in a dog bed...

To put that these Motability cuts into perspective...

It will save around £300 million.

Latest figures show the DWP has spent over £400 million fighting people on PIP appeals.

Scrap policies that punish Disabled people & stop pretending it's about economic efficiency! #Budget

the bbc changed their article from saying 'trans woman' to saying 'biological male who identifies as a woman'.

even if you don't care about trans ppl it should alarm you just how captured the bbc has become.

they will no longer even say 'trans woman'. that's not normal and shows massive bias.

The first cat we had when i was a kid was Sylvia; well she was Sylvester until she gave birth on my brothers bed...
Gentle sweet little tuxie, one day she came through the cat flap with an entire rainbow trout. Fully prepared with garnish still on it.
The best thing about having a cat is when he’ll walk in the room carrying a slice of ham but you don’t have any ham in the house. Where’d you get the ham little guy?

Reeves removes certain brands from the Motability scheme for severely disabled people, to signal that even though disabled folk pay for it, they dont deserve nice things.

Lived most of my quiet little disabled life under faux austerity from Tories and some spectacularly horrible New Labour.
Taxing people and businesses that horde vast sums like dragons with gold treasure piles, might sound fantastical to the well off, it sounds perfect to me.
Surely the City can come up with something more interesting to keep trying to attack me with?

Cut bills. Tax billionaires.

To any of my cis followers who might be wondering what's wrong with the BBC's phrasing...

- "biological male" is deliberate misgendering
- it also implies that trans people are somehow being deceptive, because "biology"
- no trans person "identifies as" *anything*. We just *are*

Hope that helps.
It looks like that BBC page has been updated in the last few minutes, so that's no longer the last sentence. I think part of it has been moved to this paragraph in the middle of the article, and the age is no longer mentioned:
