Oh my God
Pretty convincing evidence here that the Trump administration was planning to jailbreak and provide asylum for Bolsonaro -- and that Trump inadvertently revealed the plan.

And this, as the now-cliche goes, would have been a paralyzing scandal for any other administration.
Trump appears to blurt out secret plan, not knowing it's already a bust

Yup.
These people don’t understand how artists and writers pour years of their lives into something and stick their necks out creatively, professionally, and personally to do it, sometimes at great personal risk. They truly think you should be able to hit a button and create a book. Fuck them all.

like, this is the moment to STOP the fucking politics of hating government spending and make the fucking case that we can in fact make our lives better if we stop obsessing about spending an extra fucking nickel.

The main thing that Republicans learned from the *decades* they spent investigating the Clintons is not that such investigations are expensive and futile, but rather that the investigations themselves are punishments and that investigate enough an low information voters will assume something happend

The Trump administration inherited an economy that the Economist called "the envy of the world" in a cover story a week before the election and easily could've coasted on that success (again) but instead they set it on fire.

NO ONE WANTS WAR ON VENEZUELA
👀 NEW CBS poll: Seven in 10 Americans (including over half of Republicans!) say they would oppose the US taking military action inside Venezuela.

These numbers couldn’t be more emphatic against Trump and Rubio’a dumb and dangerous adventure around Venezuela:

We must force to Congress debate and vote on it.

It remains insane to me that DOGE was treated at the time as an impressive shock and awe accomplishment - “you can’t deny he’s getting stuff done!” - and then instantly memory holed by the press once if became clear it was a total failure by every possible standard including Musk’s own
Difficult to overstate how profound a failure DOGE was. Spending in FY2025 was not only than in FY2024 – but higher than it was projected to be when Trump first took office.*

The little bit of spending DOGE cut has already killed hundreds of thousands and will eventually lead to millions of deaths.
Bye bye, “DOGE”.

It no longer exists as a “centralized entity”, according to the Office of Personnel Management.

In Monrovia, California, protesters are purchasing 17¢ ICE scrapers from Home Depot and immediately returning them to create long lines and slow down the entire store. Their aim is to disrupt sales and convey a message opposing ICE raids occurring in their neighborhood.

Breaking character: I am open to the idea the media's coverage of Biden's age and mental acuity was fair or perhaps not even tough enough. But the fact that it was so much tougher than the coverage of Trump's (more severe) mental decline is damning and I can't see how anyone could argue otherwise.

Excellent piece detailing the step by step partisan maneuvering of John Roberts to make the court’s rulings become a heads we win, tails you lose farce for the benefit of Republicans preferred policies.
I think it's understandable that, if you formed strong views about executive power early in your career, you'd try to write those opinions into law as a judge. What I find inexplicable is Roberts' commitment to the project in the face of all the evidence of where his opinions lead.
This is all John Roberts’ fault
Trump owes his corrupt and abusive reign to one man.

An X user asks Elon Musk why they’re seeing tweets from left-wing lawmakers.

Musk: “Because we are failing very badly with the recommendations algorithm. Doing my best to address this.”

Democrats are responsible for every intemperate comment from every random anonymous internet communist.

But the Republican president who is at the center of a cult of personality that has consumed the entire GOP can call for mass executions, and somehow this isn’t laid at the feet of Republicans.
Weird. Nothing on the @nytimes.com homepage about the President of the United States calling for the execution of members of the opposition in response to their political speech.
Important: House Dem leaders just said Trump's call for execution of Dems has prompted them to contact US Capitol Police and House Sergeant at Arms to "ensure the safety of these members and their families."

Treat Trump like an unhinged menace. He's weak and in deep political trouble. Don't let up.

Abolish ICE
Prosecute ICE
Tear gassing a one-year-old U.S. citizen.

Dragging a U.S. citizen on her way to work out of her car.

Throwing tear gas at a children’s Halloween parade.

It’s time to have a serious conversation about defunding ICE.

Home invasions.
Child sex crimes.
Homicide.

Just a couple things that some of the 1500+ January 6 defendants have been convicted of since Trump released them back onto our streets.

The GOP isn't the party of law and order.

They're the party of lawlessness and violence.
