“Basic criminal law is that intentional murder requires mens rea and actus rea–criminal intent and criminal act,” says an Alabama defense attorney. “Where is that in felony murder? It’s not there, there’s zero intent.”
A Friend’s Death to Mourn, and to Serve Time for
An Alabama teen was shot alongside his friend, then prosecuted for his killing. His case highlights a particularly harsh doctrine in American criminal punishment: felony murder.

Walmart sells 11-ounce bags of Chex Cheesy Pizza Snack Mix for less than $4. In North Carolina prisons, a 4.25-ounce bag of that same product costs $8.75.

That's less than half the product for 2x the price.

It’s exhausting to keep demanding better from establishment Dems too beholden to capital to ever challenge the billionaire elite’s GOP puppets. We’re wasting time as our democracy crumbles into dust.

Instead, we should vote them out & replace them with reps who WILL vote to impeach Hegseth
For some reason Democratic leaders seem to prefer telling voters what they won’t be able to do, rather than what they’d like to do.

If Hegseth ordered a war crime and lied about it, shouldn’t Ds try for impeachment? Put Rs on the spot. They might get a few defections.

All that is required for the system to support a jobs program is for those jobs to arm men with guns. Money to be made arming on the front end & money to be made incarcerating on the back end.
The DC shooting story is really getting to me because we literally trained this man as a child soldier for a death squad in a forever war and Stephen Miller et al want to blame it on other cultures? It's our culture, American culture, that killed that woman.

Democracy isn’t a spectator sport
—it’s a pickup game
we win by showing up.
#NoKings proves it:
neighbors turning outrage into turnout,
care into power.
We forgot the playbook;
now we’re running it together,
Indivisible.
I think Americans are realizing that democracy is a participation sport, and the the government is ours if we want it to be. I feel like we got complacent and hoped some other third party would do the work for us. Seems like we have to learn that lesson every generation.
