After reading Clockwork Boys by T. Kingfisher, which felt a bit like a D&D campaign of a book in the best way, I started plotting Fox Eyes a bit like a D&D campaign. And honestly? Best decision I've made. I LOVE quest stories but I struggle with making the travel interesting. This has helped a lot.

So earlier while brainstorming a new character I thought, "I haven't played a character in a bit who is genuinely smart but not in a traditional academic sense. Well, Del." But then Asha and I both kind of said if Del had a CHANCE to be smart in a traditional academic sense, she probably would be.
