Average Americans would find this repulsive, but there is literally no way to inform most of them that it even happened.

Unless you're on Truth Social (3% of U.S. adults) or Bluesky (4%), you're just not going to see it. Major papers and news networks won't report it. X/Facebook will suppress it.
Donald Trump is now reposting videos on Truth Social suggesting that Minnesota Governor Tim Walz had Melissa Hortman assassinated.

This is objectively evil, and calling it out should not be political.

Chilly night in Chicago, but protesters have shown up to confront Trump’s illegal war.

As president, Joe Biden ended the “forever war” in Afghanistan, reduced the drone program to near zero, and did not launch any regime change operations.

Americans didn’t like that or didn’t care, and voted to bring those things back.

She did two events that were all about how Trump can't be trusted even by his closest allies as evidenced by the fact he tried to kill Liz Cheney. This is very embarrassing for a journalist to fall for. Maybe it did work but it's at least your failure a little bit.
"Kamala will draft your sons to fight in Ukraine" was all over the place in 2024. I don't think the Dems appreciated how much the Liz Cheney appearances fed into that; Stephen Miller claimed Cheney would be her defense secretary and start WWIII.
They believed the lie

So much of American history is just impulsive and extremely stupid elites, who don't believe in consequences because they have never personally experienced them, doing highly consequential stuff because they're bored or believe it might make them richer. I guess a lot of our culture, too.

Por lo tanto, me preocupa profundamente el continuo abuso del estado de derecho por parte de esta Administración.

This is a long thread to boil down to this: the status quo right now is untenable. We cannot live in a country where every four years you flip a coin and if it comes up GOP utter corruption and lawlessness are the norm for four years.

You. Have. To. Change. This.

Blows my mind that some of the same journalists who see Trump as a want-to-be dictator at home are earnestly discussing the "challenges" for this same man to "bring democracy" to a country it just illegal invaded. Please grow up.

Gotta say, the moderate position here is impeachment and removal and the moderates seem like they're on board.

Even if you didn’t vote for this, if you are an American this has been done in your name and you have a responsibility to do what you can to renounce and stop it. It’s not fair, but it is the duty that has been placed on us.

Ebooks are reading.

Audiobooks are reading.

Graphic novels are reading.

Pulp reading is reading.

Adults reading YA is reading.

It's all good, my friends. Don't let anyone tell you different.

The "rule of law" part is particularly galling from a program under the direction of a person who spiked a story about the foreign gulag where never charged migrants were sent in defiance of a court order.
Incredible. CBS Evening News announces five new “simple values” — instead of their “38-page handbook” — as they roll out Tony Dokoupil is lead anchor.

One of those values is simply: “We love America and make no apologies for saying so.”

This piece refuses to mention that Musk personally restored the count of a user who shared CSAM material on the platform, and *pays that user to be on the platform*. Why do cover up this pertinent fact? And why is the author’s byline linked to their profile on the child sexual abuse platform?

This is a lie. We blocked Trump’s troop deployment to Chicago.

The Supreme Court even ruled Trump would have been breaking the law had he deployed them on our streets.

I’m relieved our patriotic troops are finally heading home to their families after Trump unlawful deployment.

Between June and July, the Times alone had 200 stories about Biden’s age. They are able to drive the narrative with the velocity and intensity And in Trump’s case they just don’t want to (because they love the fascist)
We are now getting the occasional piece on this but of course nothing like the Biden blanket coverage
There are zero pieces on Trump’s cognitive abilities but you know the second he’s gone we are going to get stories about how he would rub up against sculptures of women thinking it was Hope Hicks

Magic Johnson was the grand marshal of the Rose Parade today, and as someone who remembers his November 1991 HIV announcement: if you had told anybody that day that he would be alive and healthy 34+ years later, I don't think they would have believed you. Medicine and research—they work.
