I don’t know exactly where social media replacing the local newspaper as a primary news source ranks on the list of factors contributing to our current toxic politics and culture of elite impunity, but it’s somewhere on there.

Note: Allegations of racial profiling aren’t just coming from congressional Democrats.

Over the past month, Cardinal Cupich, who oversees the Archdiocese of Chicago, has repeatedly claimed that his own priests have been racially profiled by DHS agents. religionnews.com/2026/02/10/c...

Watch this.
Yesterday morning kids were sent running from their bus stop in panic because ICE showed up. This guy at today’s ICE Out of Lindenwold protest is a must watch 😭. @maddow.bsky.social

This is tremendous. Take the time to watch it.
Highlighting the speaker who stood in front of the Surprise mayor and told him to consider what the Mayor of Ohrdruf must’ve thought before he died by suicide: “He might have thought ‘how is this my fault I had no jurisdiction over this’ maybe he said ‘this site was not subject to local zoning.’”

Nothing even remotely like the modern system of tightly restricted international borders existed in biblical times.
Q: Pope Leo cited Matthew 25:35 to critique Donald Trump's mass deportation agenda. How would you respond to Pope Leo in scripture?

MIKE JOHNSON: Sovereign borders are biblical and right and just. It's not because we hate the people on the outside. It's because we love the people on the inside.

happening this morning in Minneapolis -- ICE agents drawing guns on observers. I reiterate again that it is only a matter of time before DHS kills more innocent people in Minnesota. Congress needs to shut this shit down right now.

INBOX: It appears ~300 Catholic leaders — including a number of bishops, although interestingly this is *not* a letter from the USCCB — have signed a letter urging senators not approve ICE/DHS funding in the appropriations bill.

Below are *some* (but not all) of the signers.

One strategic reason to impeach Noem ASAP is that it increases the likelihood she'll turn on Miller, especially if she thinks the admin is hanging her out to dry.
Of course. And that’s why Dems need to lean in and work towards dismantling ICE.
First no funding.
Impeach Noem.
Demand hearings on ICE’s operation in MN.
Demand that Miller resign.

Don’t let up.

Cc: @cleaver.house.gov thank you if you’ve been pushing him to do this!
Donald Trump must fire Kristi Noem immediately.

Or Democrats will initiate impeachment proceedings against her in the House.

We can do this the easy way or the hard way.

Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.) is planning to fly to Minneapolis tomorrow. Ro Khanna flew in today.

We've been telling Dems to do this last week. You have to be in Minnesota. You have to be with the people. You have to stand next to Walz and Frey.

Coordinated effort, leadership, and pushback.

Dems: murdering a nurse trying to help a woman on the ground is not law enforcement. Murdering a mother driving home from dropping her kids at school is not law enforcement. Kidnapping little boys in Spiderman backpacks is not law enforcement. So feel free to stand against ICE. Did we clear that up?
I'm not sure Democrats in D.C. are aware that their base's rage against ICE has reached a level of blinding white-hot intensity.

They're worried about "looking weak" for voting "against law enforcement" when they should be worried a mob of housewives is going to come beat them to death if they do.

I’m completely fed up with elected Representatives saying shit like, “Republicans will tell you behind closed doors that they don’t agree with what ICE is doing”.

Playtime is over. Professional courtesy no longer exists.

Name them, record them, and make it public.

@cleaver.house.gov you can go to Minnesota and get out of the snow to do this.
Democrat leaders should be in Minnesota right now, standing side by side with Walz and Frey and the community.

They need to show solidarity and a united front.

They must say Abolish ICE.

They won't but they should. Trump is going to unleash hell on that state.

Memory is a fragile thing in this moment, so it is important to keep in mind that Hakeem Jeffries refused to whip his caucus against ICE funding earlier this week.

I don’t want to hear anything from an elected official unless it’s a plan to defund the DHS and impeach Noem, Bovino, etc. No texts. No emails. No talk about the economy. Step up or step off.

Whenever we call the general strike against a government murdering us for dissenting against a war on people trying to come to a better life, I'd just like to remind the 7 Democrats who just voted to give ICE $10 billion more to attack us that, like the rest of us, they can take the day off.

If ever tempted to despair, remember these Minnesotans, their resolve, and take strength from their example. It lifts my heart, and reminds me to hope.

And why? Why do they dress in military uniforms, use military language, and military tactics?

The same reason sad schmucks lie about having served.

Insecure men , desperate to be perceived as having those qualities the uniform represents: competence, masculinity, honor, and terrified they don’t.
Military has to go out of its way to not be mistaken for secret police which now dresses like them
