Mostly harmless, but do note that both my grandfathers killed fascists. GenX. Слава Україні. Meese is still a pig.

babe wake up, they're doing insider trading on war crimes
“What appears to be a newly created account appeared to invest $30,000 Friday in Maduro's exit. After Maduro went into custody Saturday morning, that same investor netted $436,759.61.”
Someone made $400K by predicting Maduro's capture. Here's what happened
The winnings come as the rules governing prediction markets are still evolving.

Late to the party, but I'll take the free day to do what should've been done yesterday: my name is Kip Manley; I'm writing a long-running epic urban fantasy serial, City of Roses, set here in Portland; it's about a telemarketer and a princess and an alternative magical stream.

you simply do not have to preface your statements about this with “but Maduro sucks”

whether or not Maduro sucks is entirely beside the point - we invaded another country and grabbed their leader with no justification other than “we wanted to”

don’t give them cover on it

This would be exactly like your phone's spellcheck or autocomplete apologizing for a felony. Grok is just large-scale autocomplete.
The only take I've seen from the likes of Reuters and NBC is "Grok sincerely apologized for this, and is urgently working on installing additional safeguards."
the biggest gop donor runs a website that produces csam, somehow the mainstream media is disinterested in this angle

This is true and I was the only one on set excited about it (and playing the song on my phone to blank stares)
Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.

I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

Just a year after un-damning 😉 the Klamath River, salmon runs are back.

Dam removal "also restored natural water temperatures, cooled the river earlier in the fall, reduced harmful algal blooms, and dramatically lowered levels of the deadly parasite C. shasta."

Chaperoning a booth at the PDX Maker Faire. Watched as my young daughter pelted a cheerful dad-guy with cheerios to demo her tiny trebuchet. They chatted for about 10 minutes, had a great time. As he walked away she recognized his laugh: her hero, Adam Savage.

I still don't think she's recovered.
Right folks. Feeling rather down at the moment so bringing back an oldie

I think more than achievements we should start asking what did we overcome this year

did you survive your way through grief? did you manage to overcome a bad habit? did you get help when you needed it? did you support your community? even just *being* here after a whole year is worth being proud of

We bought a nice, pre-cooked spiral-cut ham Just In Case.

Even if the grid got blown to smithereens again, we were going to have a decent Christmas dinner.
Although today's Puget Sound windstorm appears to be a bust, it's important to always be prepared with a severe winter weather plan. Ours is to bust the overpriced Brie out of the fridge and eat it before it spoils. #WaWX
