Kindness is part of my religion, and you can feel free to hold me accountable when I fall short. Weirdest career arc of anyone you know. I have friends everywhere.
The Billy Joel YouTube account has been trickling out videos from his old shows. I had the opportunity to see him locally but was so badly hurt from a workplace injury that I couldn't make it out. I fear I missed my last chance. What a legend. www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNQd...

Did I mention that you can get 200 keychain whistles on Amazon for $18?

Lowe's just delivered 160lbs of bird seed to my door about 90 minutes after I placed the order. So if you have an emergency that can be fixed with 160lbs of bird seed, I recommend Lowe's.

my Blackest opinion is that the presumption of conflict between "America has a long and deeply rooted history of violence" and "we can and should fight against today's version of that, as did those who came before us" is less a philosophical debate about how to treat the past and more a skill issue

All of my romances have been, BY DEFINITION, My Chemical Romance, because everything has chemicals.

For some reason my Discover Feed is full of painted fingernails. I'm not a Nails Guy, but I do like pretty colors.

Even the dumbest jocks in my police academy class all those years ago could tell you the difference between reasonable suspicion and probable cause.
Homan: "Let's make it clear: ICE can detain a US citizen if they have probable cause that this person may have committed a crime. A short detainment and questioning, all you need is reasonable suspicion."

Misread Genshin Impact as Gershwin Impact. I'd play that on mobile. It would probably be an "I've Got Rhythm" game.

“But we’re not ready to have that conversation.” No, that’s where you’re wrong. I’m always ready to have that conversation. I’m always ready for any conversation. One day, I started talking, and I have yet to shut up. I will likely die mid-sentence.

I do not give a single frick about post engagement. I'm here to have fun and be nice to people.
People get trained, perhaps unconsciously, to post engagement slop that the site algorithm likes. But Bluesky traffic isn't driven by a singular algorithm to the same degree and depends more on if live humans actually like you and share your stuff.

I kinda hang here and have 2x my Twitter follows 🤷🏽‍♂️

I had a beard for seven years before I put beard oil in it and brushed it and... I probably should have done that earlier than today.

MPLS is the 17th largest city in the US, and they're having to divert ICE from Chicago and other places just to run their surge there. That's why they have to focus on one city at a time, and they still don't have enough boots on the ground. This is not sustainable for them.
And for the bajillionth time, they do not have the guys for any of this

Even with hypothetically calling up the entire Guard and using half of the AD Army (both of which are beyond impossible as a practical matter) they would still not have enough guys
wrote about the occupation in minnesota with a closing note on how the white house has exactly one tactic — repression with goons — but no particular strategy for dealing with entrenched resistance. gift link.

Ok but for real our national anthem is just shitposting. It's just like "hey remember that flag I put up yesterday? The one you keep shooting canons at? Guess what assholes it's still there!"

Brethren, see the neighbors 'round you
Suff'ring near the brink of woe
Death is coming, hell is moving
Can you bear to let them go?
See our fathers and our mothers
And our children sinking down
Brethren, pray, and holy manna
Will be showered all around

We suffered. I actually bounced off the game at exactly this moment three times before I finally returned this year and finished it. After grinding to what I thought was an unhealthy level, I still ran into trouble at the end and resorted to cheats to get it over with. Beautiful game, though.
So as I'm going back through Final Fantasy XIII to grab some higher-res screenshots for article art and refamiliarize myself with the story, I'm paying more attention to the grind in the open area in Chapter 11, and I'm trying to imagine how a normal player would experience it.
