I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture.

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

This is why OpenAI is selling so aggressively to education at all levels—they want to create entire generations of users incapable of reading, writing and thinking without ChatGPT to hold their hands

And teachers and professors should call this out for what it actually is
To bear out this rosy projection, HSBC assumes that OpenAI will become "as ubiquitous [...] as Microsoft 365" (345mm users worldwide) while bringing in 10x the number of users (3bn).

This is absolutely brilliant.
Day laborer organizers in California are lining up at Home Depot to buy a single 17-cent ice scraper, return it, and repeat the process in an effort to slow sales and protest the store’s cooperation with ICE operations.

"Oh-ho, I had a contrary experience which means that you are wrong, and not that there are a multitude of deeply varying experiences in the vastness of the world!"

What a joke. Source: me, someone who watched 120 Minutes and Headbangers Ball/Countdown to the Ball with equal high interest.
As someone who is this guy's age I can tell you 100% that if you were into Pixies, Nirvana, 120 Minutes stuff, etc. but didn't like the Beatles you had to have worked hard to contort yourself into that special little box. Your enemy, if you absolutely needed one, was hair metal. GTFO here with this.

The remarkable thing here is that it's not even about businesses and people having competing interests* but cars vs. everyone. This is a baffling step backward from @pikeplacemarket.bsky.social.

*there was that one guy wrung his hands very loudly before the numbers made it clear how silly that was
So, Pike Place pedestrianization is over? What the fuck @pikeplacemarket.bsky.social?

Hi.

I’ve been editor-in-chief of Teen Vogue for the last 4.5 years — a dream job, one I never thought a Brown girl from small town Louisiana might hold.

I am so incredibly proud of the work we’ve done and what we accomplished. Our journalism has won major awards. (cont’d)

Not to be the fun police but I do hope people know that Arc Raiders does use generative AI for voice acting, and by supporting the game you're letting higher-ups know that this is an okay practice.

They try to downplay this on the Steam store page by describing the AI usage as vaguely as possible.
