And all jokes aside, however I feel about her politics she's been a lightning rod for almost a decade now and has never once been driven to a misstep, has never once given anyone any space to impugn her integrity even when she's out throwing elbows.

She's a legit junzi.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say this happened partly because francophone Canadian journalists are still using Twitter like it's 2018.
Radio-Canada apologizes after it aired a photo circulated by anti-trans hate groups online, falsely claiming it was a photo of the Tumbler Ridge shooter. Damaging and irresponsible, and this apology raises more questions about journalistic process imho.

Correction sur la couverture de la fusillade à Tumbler Ridge
La direction de l'information s'excuse de la publication d'une photo présentant à tort une personne comme étant responsable de la fusillade.

There's an argument that Trump was constitutionally barred from holding federal office after Jan 6 and therefore all his public acts since then are void. He has spent the last year validating that notion every single day. Letting any of this stand and ~Moving On~ after it's over would be a mistake

between bringing back the PEQ and killing the 3e lien, it really feels like Frechette is trying to pull a Carney and basically reset the CAQ
Welp there we go.

Not confident in anyone from the CAQ but Frechette's trying to quietly kill the 3e lien idea so there's that at least.

A lot of old-fashioned labor Democrats are still leery about immigration, even as organized labor has gotten behind immigration reform in the past two decades. But immigration has been the engine of American innovation and prosperity since the end of World War II.

What's very annoying about this stuff is that including indigenous communities in agricultural research is often quite helpful, given that their communities frequently have a different understanding of the land and what's usable.

Piers Morgan is in the bottom 10 percent of English presenters and therefore the top 40 percent of Americans
i fucking hate handing it to piers morgan so much and the only reason i have to do it is because so many american talking heads are so completely toothless
Megyn Kelly just shouting “FOOTBALL IS OURS” at Piers Morgan about Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl show is the perfect example of this moment in time. Put it in a time capsule and send it out into space.

This is a great reminder that many people, and for some reason they seem to concentrate on the right, are incapable of reading subtext, allusion, metaphor, and imagery in the media they consume. All that exists for them is the surface experience, with no meaning attached to any representation.

Bad Bunny's style has always defied expectations. So, amid intense speculation that he would use his Super Bowl outfit to subvert masculine stereotypes, stage a protest or publicly lambast ICE (again), it was perhaps no surprise that he did precisely none of those things. https://cnn.it/4kv3OY6

Excellent article. The Republican coalition is held together by racist bigotry, social conservatism, and Trump worship.

Most establishment media works to ignore that reality. Cable news is filled with Republicans sane-washing Trump and his bigotry. It's "uncivil" to tell the truth.

There are many different, often contradictory ideas people have about what makes a "fair" map. Overall party proportionality. Geographical compactness. Communities of interest. And the GOP supports exactly none of them because their position on the issue is pure partisan hypocrisy and nothing else.

It's interesting that this attitude by the press actively encourages partisanship. Republicans are here being punished for breaking with the president by having more negative coverage for the party
tbh i think that republicans are calling it racist gives them license to say there’s some kind of bipartisan consensus on its content, which is integral to how the NYT interprets reality
I don’t know if this counts as a watershed moment or whatever but it is significant that even the NYT has to drop the pretense and call it what it is.

People will likely not like me for saying this but Trump had a similar sort of instinct but more vulgar back in 2016 and during his first term. I'm thinking specifically to that moment when the lights went off in a speech he was giving and he just rolled with it.

Dude is such a natural and charismatic communicator. Something occurs that would make someone else stumble or lose focus and he just rolls it into his speech almost like it was prepared. That takes not just talent but instinct.

the political faction which came to be associated with Kamala Harris -- racist antiracist turbocentrists -- has, as far as I can tell, nothing to do with her actual politics and seems like electoral poison for anyone else it attaches to
this really captures the perversity of the Crockett campaign

-Talarico is not particularly moderate
-the zero-to-100 application of racial and gender politics to buttress a dubious claim
-accidentally sneaking in the message that Talarico is more electable to your attack
