Let me get this straight: Link, a Black user, got banned for calling out the Bluesky CEO for following a racist. That’s not a good look, especially given Bluesky’s historical treatment of Black users here on bluesky.

Another example of it doesn't have to be this way and isn't in other democracies.

Other countries don't shut the government down. They keep operating under the previous funding until deals are reached. Here they just close down the parts that will help the people and keep the parts that serve power.

Not bc I felt I had some right to be distinct & unique and only I could look like me. I just hated seeing myself. It made me viscerally uncomfortable.

Maybe if I had known what "dysphoria" was, I might have figured things out then. Idk if i could have done something about it.

I hated him bc he looked like me. I hated seeing his face. I hated talking to him bc it was like looking in a mirror (sorta). He had never done me wrong but I did not like being around him. I admit this is a weird thing for someone to feel for a stranger.

It wasn't bc I felt he made me less unique

When I was a teenager, participating in scouts, there was this kid who joined up a few years after I did who looked just like me.
Same complexion, same frame, same hair, same eyes. Minor differences yes, keeping us distinct, but close enough you could think we were related.

I fucking hated that kid
