Trump is dismantling the Department of Education while our kids face the toughest learning challenges in decades. As a public school parent myself, I see what this means: fewer protections, fewer resources, fewer opportunities. He’s abandoning our students and sabotaging our future.

A depraved and decadent Trump WH dinner for MBS was a stunning low for an American ruling class that's stopped pretending to carry a moral compass

It was really a celebration of death - of democracy, of an overheating planet, and ultimately themselves. My new column www.inquirer.com/opinion/ceos...
The night America’s doomed ruling class gorged on lamb, blood, and oil
For America’s deeply corrupt billionaires, time heals all wounds — even from a murderous Saudi prince’s bone saw.

In a moment built on cruelty, kindness becomes rebellion. It’s how we stay human, how we fight back, how we refuse the world they want us to accept.

I wrote about the small acts that save us and why they matter now more than ever 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

I used to handle interlibrary loans for a public library. ILL is a magnificent expression of the idea that readers deserve books, and books deserve readers. It’s libraries everywhere pooling their resources for the benefit of everyone.

Killing IMLS could have killed ILL.

This is great news. 📚

The correct answer to MAGA outrage over the Dem video is this: Are you effing kidding me? Of course it's reasonable to warn that Trump might be giving illegal orders.

The evidence is strong that he actually is giving illegal orders! I went through that evidence here:

Is Trump Giving Illegal Orders? Dems Just Blew That Question Wide Open
From the boat bombings to deportations to prosecutions, the evidence mounts. And the speaker of the House could get to the bottom of it if he wanted to. Yeah, right.

The DoE has reclassified numerous health professional and other degrees, limiting access to federal student loan programs eligible for the higher OBBBA loan caps from thousands to a few hundred.

As ALWAYS, this is about $$.

In honor of Larry Summers, I asked the female members of my college class (1987) to say if they had any experiences with sexual harassment by teachers/professors, back when this was tolerated as, I dunno, the cost of attending college, and OH MY GOD.

If you receive an illegal order, you have a duty to disobey.

This isn’t controversial.

A President calling for the execution of anyone who reminds service members of this oath is showing us why the duty to disobey illegal orders is so important in the first place.

The common good is a set of shared commitments.

To the rule of law. To democracy. To tolerance. To equal opportunity. To upholding the truth.

We cannot have a functioning society without these shared commitments.

Tomorrow’s vote is about forcing the transparency the American people should’ve had months ago.

Have no doubt: I’ll be voting YES.

Let’s be clear: The DOJ has already been subpoenaed. They’re legally obligated to release the full Epstein files—and they’re still dragging their feet.

It’s a shame we’ve even gotten to the point of needing a discharge petition.

In somewhat good news, today the state department website has changed the answer to this question to defer to ICAO policy. Sources still tell me that there is some appetite for invalidation/reversion of passports issued under the injunction, but this message will be welcome to many trans people.
