I guess further support is a no-brainer.
Wenn man einfach irgendwas für Putin und Trump unterschreibt, dann hat man nicht morgen wieder deutsch-russische Freundschaft und übermorgen die Pipelines wieder in Betrieb. Stattdessen gäbe es Millionen Flüchtlinge und Europa wäre allein mit dauerhafter russischer Bedrohung.

We all acknowledge that our free speech and open societies are great democratic achievements.
We should be more aware they make us vulnerable too. Hostile state actors takes the time and invest big money in dividing us.
