You will never lick a boot so well and so often that they let you take a turn wearing it.
They invade my home, my TV, and my thoughts almost every day for 6 months a year. And this year they're doing it for a 7th month.

In addition to the many, many reasons Caleb Raleigh is incredible: it’s so rare to see a player call out team ownership for underinvesting in the on-field product. Caleb Raleigh forced the Mariners to be a real baseball franchise through sheer force of will. He is a labor hero.
Thinking about how Cal Raleigh—a quiet guy!—said two years ago ownership had to get serious. And how everyone wanted them to get Suarez, but we all thought they’d wouldn’t actually do it. And then they did.

And tonight he did that.

One more.

Here you go, Mariners fans.

The entire bottom of the eighth of tonight's ALCS Game 5, posted to the MLB YouTube account.
Eugenio Suárez's CLUTCH GRAND SLAM makes the difference for the Mariners in Game 5 of the ALCS! 😳

I was embarrassed that a lot of rowdy fans audibly cheered his injury and continued the booing while he hobbled to 1st.

But not nearly the entire crowd—not even most—cheered. John's exaggerating.

And the booing will follow every 2017 Astros star to their graves. He can blame Manfred for that.

Seattle Freeze, my ass 😝
Yes, George Springer is a cheater from the 2017 Astros. For that, we (Mariners fans) boo him.

But it's gross and classless to cheer his injury, especially on a HBP. It's bad form and bad karma.

#5 was a called strike, stealing a base runner from the Mariners.

Fuck Marvin Hudson and this whole umpire crew.

It is impossible to understand the Supreme Court’s Voting Rights Act cases without the context that John Roberts has hated the Voting Rights Act since he was working to water it down as a 26-year-old Reagan staffer. This is his life’s work, and he can’t wait to finish the job.
Killing the Voting Rights Act Is John Roberts’s Life’s Work
As a 26-year-old Reagan staffer, Roberts was already convinced the Voting Rights Act had to go. He can’t wait to finish the job.

Bumping this out of thread because it's another example of taking a tax passed for a specific, targeted purpose (improving public health, particularly in poor and BIPOC neighborhoods) and converting it to an all-purpose slush fund to close a general-fund gap. This used to be a very big deal.
I actually am Old Enough To Remember when it was an extremely big deal that Jenny Durkan wanted to repurpose the city's soda tax to backfill the general fund. Harrell's budget casually uses $7.2 million from the soda tax to backfill the general fund. publicola.com/2019/07/19/w...

This ad feels super-creepy and invasive. Also, I wish every elected official had customer service/food service experience. We’ve got way too many lawyers in office as it is.
The pro-Bruce Harrell PAC sent out a mailer suggesting Katie Wilson has no experience. VERY odd that they only include her resume through 2015. Wonder if Harrell would consider it fair to exclude mayor and two council terms from his resume? Yes they included her old address for some fucking reason.

as others have pointed out, it also seems pretty sketch for the mayor's PAC to have access to a resume his opponent used when she applied for a job 10 years ago

I’ll add that many of the arguments that conservative legal movement luminaries are making now would not have flown even in FedSoc circles a decade ago. It matters that they are comfortable saying this stuff in public, and that the conservative lawyers who reject these arguments are now irrelevant.
"they've always been like this" is always a tempting savvy take but it is just not true that Republican staffers were 100 percent open Nazis back in 2004, or hell even 2014. they just weren't
there have been a lot of responses to this arguing that young Republicans were motivated by such feelings but didn't express them openly

and I think a crucial lesson of the Trump era is that there is great value in people not expressing these things openly! that's a big and decisive change!
All checked in for jury duty today at Seattle Municipal Court. This feels like a positive sign. #GoMs #Mariners #TridentsUp 🔱 #ALCS

A defining feature of this admin is attacking as antisemitic everything they don’t like while constantly engaging in rank antisemitism.
I just checked and this is real. It's on Border Patrol's official Instagram (I don't see it on Facebook) and is being celebrated by Nazis on Twitter, as you can see in the screenshot.

The clip is just 13 seconds long too, so it's a very intentional thing. We've got a Nazi government.

The problem now is that a substantial part of Bibi’s coalition still wants to achieve its actual maximalist goals of wiping out Hamas, Palestinian nationhood, and most or all of the population of Gaza. How long they’ll have to wait before trying again is unclear.
