diet for a small planet is why my mom was vegetarian for the one and only time in her life when she was pregnant with me (which i think is why i don’t like the taste of meat; it literally makes me gag)

but yeah, its recipes are nasty as fuck. i tried them as an adult and was like, “oh hell no”

no one should have to defend their dietary choices. not eating meat doesn’t work for a lot of people, for many reasons (medical, financial, access/food deserts, etc), but militant vegans live in a utopia where none of that matters + they cut off discussion of ways to increase ANY ethical consumption

shocking no one, none of them could. they’ve all been vegan for 3 minutes and are now the almighty defenders of the faith

i’ve been vegetarian/vegan my entire life, including in utero, + they came after me awhile back for being insufficiently pure since i said, based on my lifelong experience, that veganism requires immense privilege

you need to not only avoid meat but also toe their line

We are reaching the tipping point with continued measles outbreaks throughout the U.S. If they continue (bad news: under this administration, that's nearly guaranteed), we are at risk of losing our elimination status. What that means in the info-graphic, below.

What is "Measles Elimination"?
"Elimination means no continuous endemic transmission of measles for <12 months despite importations. The U.S. was declared to have eliminated measles in 2000. But elimination is not "forever" - if the virus begins sustained transmission again, the status can be revoked.
Why the US is now at risk:
2025 is seeing the highest measles caseload in decades - over 1,544 confirmed cases as of Sept. 30. Many outbreaks are clustering in under-vaccinated communities. Measles is extremely transmissible, so her immunity needs very high coverage (>92-95%) to block sustained spread.
What losing elimination means - and why it matters:
Measles becomes endemic again: regular spread, more severe outcomes, and greater health impact. The public health burden increases; contact tracing, outbreak response, surveillance costs, and strain on local health systems.
