Happy to finally see this in print!! Dr. Michael Straeubig (whom I never met prior) and I were brought together for a guided discussion by the editors on and around the topic of rules and games.

The chapter is our (polished up) conversation -- definitely my favorite kind of scholarship 😊

We never thought he was joking. I don't understand why American media keeps trying to say we're just mad about the tariffs. We're mad about THIS.

No matter their trade policy, I suspect Canadians will *never* see America as a true ally again.

I'm thinking , since the Dept of Justice publicly released the home address of Jennifer Vasquez Sura, the wife of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, we should start finding and releasing home information of DHS, ICE and police who help kidnap individuals out of schools, off the streets. Let their names be known.

voted in the early polls for the first time today ... changing address on site was incredibly easy!

Please, for the love of cthulu, if you are qualified to vote - VOTE! We do not want a case where we are governed by a party that only 49.8% of the people voted for and we spiral down the abyss!

The systems WORK. There is literally no need to do any of this. That tells me:

(a) part of the PLAN is to wreck govt services and cause chaos

(b) there's criminal intent to steal secrets/data and probably force the govt to pay Musk a license forever for use of Grok code

Call this what it is: attempted bribery from the richest man in the world, offering potential voters $100 for their information and a commitment to a specific ideological viewpoint.

Elon Musk is offering people in Wisconsin $100 if they sign a petition.

This is in the context of his efforts to swing the court to conservatives. www.axios.com/2025/03/21/e...

I work for a US university but live in Canada (am Canadian, travel between CAN/US) and every time we read stuff on reddit about the cost of treatments (he is on Ocrevus) we are devastated for anyone without good insurance. Courage to you both!

Wrote this piece on the significance of the York cuts:

'In a democratic society a university is not a “business” that sells degrees. It can serve as a bulwark against disinformation and against manipulation of the population by powerful interests.' @ocufa.bsky.social @caut.bsky.social

if you want to know why Musk/Trump's shit is instantly toxic abroad but popular at home, it's because abroad they don't have a cheerleading pro-Trump media and a backstop of corrupt judges to clean up after every stupid decision. Instead it just looks stupid and cruel.
