Free #parking facilitation, Charlottetown-style.
Revenue loss was likely much higher than the $640 indicated in the report, considering that meter enforcement really ends at 4 PM on weekdays when commissionaires finish working.
It's past time for #parkingreform.

“I live my life without a transit schedule, and I like it.”

That’s a great, succinct statement about the benefits of frequent service.

The second flotilla is now in the ‘red zone’ where Israel has previously abducted flotillas and trafficked them onwards to false imprisonment. We’ll do all we can to reach Gaza, but if they stop us it will likely be within 24 hours. Track us here: thousandmadleens.fr/tracker

Hamas will also turn against the plan as soon as negotiations get into critical issues .... The twenty-point plan may not be dead on arrival, but it is extremely vulnerable."

They really should.

If they had to wear them people would be more informed about what they were voting for.

And they might be more careful about who they take money from.

For every €1 provided through a Basic Income For Artists pilot program in Ireland, the government got €1.46 back. So it’s being made permanent.

Over and over we see it. It saves public money to provide public housing. And it makes public money to provide basic income.

We can’t afford to NOT do it.

Damn. This is amazing. £325 per week, paid monthly, for 3 years - and the result was a profit for the Irish economy:

Post from Threads user rodneyowl: "Ireland has declared the Basic Income for Artists scheme permanent. This will be officially announced in tomorrow’s budget. Details to follow. Congratulations to all who fought for it and the present and future artists of all sorts in Ireland. That includes me 👌We’re just comin to the end of a 3 year pilot scheme. It’s been a roaring success. For every €1 paid out to the 2000 participants, the government got €1.46 back. Can’t argue with that. Other countries are already taking note."
