Leftist from WA. Every couple years I find myself unable to resist yapping about elections and politics. Looks like 2026 is not the year for that to change.

Race is over with these vote totals, even allowing for a decent chunk of mail to still come and a high provisional rejection rate

Malinowski is winning Essex mail by 15% vs 36% in Morris

He might not even win late VBM in Essex, seems to be no sources of votes left for him

Rep. Mark Amodei, who is the sole Republican in Nevada's congressional delegation, will not seek reelection. Calculations by The Downballot show that Donald Trump carried his constituency, which includes Reno and dark red rural communities, 56-42 in 2024. www.the-downballot.com/p/the-downba...
Mark Amodei will retire at the end of his term - The Nevada Independent
The congressman, who has served for a decade and a half, is the only Republican in Nevada’s delegation.

With some new polls showing John Cornyn in *third* place in the #TXSen GOP primary, we asked the singular Eric Ostermeier of UMN's Smart Politics when was the last time such a fate befell an incumbent senator.

It's been a while: #NHSen Maurice Murphy took 3rd in a 1962 special election primary!

This was three months ago, about the Seattle mayoral election. A propos tonight, unfortunately. Calling races should never be about being first.
Decision Desk "calling" Seattle's mayor race is quite startling & premature.

Will Harrell win? Very plausible: I'd even rather be him at this stage! But not what calls are about.

About 60% has been counted. Gap is 5.7%. Wilson needs to win what's left by 9%; she won what was counted today by 3.5%.

Aside from the fact that I much prefer Mejia's political positions, I just can't fathom the electoral wisdom of nominating a guy who did insider stock trading last time he was in the House and massively underperformed his district twice (three times if you count this primary result)

Seriously it’s DDHQ made another terrible, wrong, premature call and mislead everyone with a terrible turnout estimate?

Wow, I didn’t know that, you’re just telling me now for the first time

LEAD CHANGE: Mejia, the Bernie/AOC-endorsed candidate, is now ahead of Malinowski.

And she’s been dominating Election Day ballots, so something would have to change for Malinowski to take it back.

Kind of a crazy early/e-day vote split in #NJ11 so far:

Essex Early: Malinowski- 33%, Mejia- 23.3%
Essex E-Day: Mejia- 37.8%, Malinowski- 22.2%

Morris Early: Malinowski- 43.5%, Mejia- 17%
Morris E-Day: Mejia- 37.9%, Malinowski- 21.4%

Malinowski has definitely not won yet
