Starmer should be uniting with our allies against Trump's threats, not splitting off to suck up to him.

How will the EU hit back against Trump for his Greenland tariffs?

€93bn of tit-for-tat tariffs are not only already agreed by the bloc, they will come into force in 20 days unless member states explicitly stop them.

@andybounds.bsky.social explains how they will work

Trump’s “Peace Board” for Gaza, with a $1B buy-in paid into an offshore account he controls, isn’t peace or reconstruction. It reads like a mob cartel: cash for seats, power for loyalty, and a plan to finish ethnic cleansing, clear the land, and rebuild Gaza as a Trump-branded resort.

For this post to be about the United States and not Russia shows that there has been an absolute diplomatic revolution.
I spoke to the Secretary-General of NATO, Emmanuel Macron, Keir Starmer, Friedrich Merz and Giorgia Meloni.

Together we stand firm in our commitment to uphold the sovereignty of Greenland and the Kingdom of Denmark.

—American allies? Hungary, presumably, and maybe Turkey (or maybe not).
—Other expansionist/revanchist powers? Russia and Israel, probably. Maybe Serbia? And China?
—Other statelets—Somaliland?

What makes this statement by Emmanuel Macron so unprecedented is, for the first time, a leading European ally is equating Trump with Putin.

“No intimidation or threat will influence us - neither in Ukraine, nor in Greenland, nor anywhere else in the world.”

EVERYTHING has changed.

Europe should share its escalation plan tomorrow.
Tariffs on US goods, taxes on tech companies, dumping US stocks, currency and treasuries. That's the order of escalation. That should set US markets in motion on Monday and maybe get some sane Americans to call their senators and congressmen.
