Never let a single goddamned person on the Right ever claim again that they’re the party of law and order without laughing in their lying face.
So Capitol Police officers were assaulted and injured on Jan 6th, the White House today is blaming them for the violence, and the people who attacked them have been pardoned and are back to mock and abuse them on the 5th anniversary.

And the GOP is the party of the police? Really? REALLY??
White House's newly-posted "timeline" of Jan 6 blames Capitol Police for Jan 6, which included an attack on ..... Capitol Police

Between his CNN interview and his new tweets, Stephen Miller has now come out for unshackled American imperialism underwritten by assumed western civilizational supremacy. His relitigation of 1965 immigration act (which I wrote about) are functionally a way to call for some species of recolonization
Stephen Miller also very plainly believes he's awakening Kipling's Saxons from their Jewish hypnosis. He's just figured out a slightly more disguised way of saying it

Remember when a guy lost an election and then spent months making wild, baseless claims that it was stolen, leveraging the personality cult he’d built to try to get people to reject the results? And then thousands of his supporters rioted, injuring hundreds of cops?

Whatever happened to that guy?

It's true but to me "the voters" are farther down on the responsibility scale. At the top are the elites who failed to understand the danger, the necessity for accountability, and kinda just hoped this would all go away. In a healthy political system he'd never be allowed to run again
The American people electing Trump after he staged a coup attempt 5 years ago was a nail in the coffin of our democracy. You can rationalize it all you want - But inflation! But wokeness! - but ultimately it was a societal suicide attempt and probably the dumbest collective voting decision ever made

Absolutely true, and somehow not-discussed point:

The US **ALREADY** has all the strategic advantages it could gain by "owning" Greenland. Through treaties and (until now) close NATO cooperation w Denmark

The US has a naval base & 'space force' base there. You see USAF planes at Grndlnd airports
The thing that’s so dumb about this is that there’s nothing legitimate about the strategic importance of Greenland that the US doesn’t get through existing alliances. Denmark isn’t impeding US strategic interests. It’s about them wanting to increase US land area by 20%.
Joint European statement on Greenland. They moved quickly after Miller’s comments about annexation last night.

January 6 in History

Wrote this two years ago: “If the insurrectionist-in-chief returns to power without ever facing any real consequences and while explicitly declaring his intent to establish a vindictive autocracy, then January 6 will have been successful.”

And here we are.
January 6 in History
Was it a key moment in the republic’s eventual demise or a milestone on the road to democracy’s ultimate triumph? The meaning of January 6 is yet to be determined

Quick question: what the FUCK?!?

This is why I’m pushing for a state escrow account that holds federal funds before sending them on to Washington. If Trump wants to steal our tax dollars that were legally appropriated by Congress, then we should just be paying ourselves.
“Minnesota, New York, California, Illinois and Colorado will be cut off from around $7 billion in funding for the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program, which provides cash assistance to households with children, according to two people familiar with the matter.”

Monstrously cruel.

The failure of our elites to hold Trump accountable for January 6th is as disgraceful as what happened on that awful day.

Since 2010, 35 democratic leaders around the world have been criminally convicted. Only Trump went unpunished and unconstrained.

Now he threatens democracy at home and abroad.

Stephen Miller is describing an unhinged, imperialistic US foreign policy where the Trump Admin inflicts its will on the world with zero regard for international law or the sovereignty of other nations.

It’s the kind of worldview that leads to world wars. It’s dangerous & wrong.
MILLER: The US is using its military to secure our interests unapologetically in our hemisphere. We're a superpower. It's absurd we'd allow a nation in our backyard to become a supplier of resources to our adversaries

TAPPER: Sovereign countries shouldn't be able to do what they want?
