Yup this briefing is totally consistent with everything else we've been told about Starmer & McSweeney - at which point the obvious "solve for x" answer is to get rid of the former!
...and that of Morgan McSweeney who is said to have pushed Mandelson's appt.

Labour MPs received calls y'day to assess the vulnerability of their position. “Morgan is completely exposed but I just don’t think Keir can function without him,” one MP said.

Fascism incoming - and it'll be our fault as the Labour Party for letting it in.

Most of Epstein’s victims were either too frightened to come forward, or silenced through legal threats. Oh, and here’s a senior British politician giving Epstein tips on how to silence them

Great stuff - particularly great observation that the anti-renewable right are obsessed with passive income yet somehow don't like solar power, almost the very definition thereof at an industrial scale!

something worth remembering: graduates already pay a tax on the benefits of going to university. it's called "income tax". the government takes 20-45% of the increased earnings resulting from your university education.
Pulling together thoughts on the Plan B student loans, the way the system is set up means there will be a 40-50% chunk of people who for some of the most expensive years of their careers will pay a 9% higher tax rate than the other 50-60% and this does basically make it impossible to do tax policy.

If you've ever prompted an LLM to take you thru a simple concept you don't understand but without giving you the answer, you'll know they're great at finding gaps in understanding. But kids won't know how to write these prompts. As with Claude Code/Kiro, the devil will be in the detail (ie tooling).

So basically we have a solid center left majority under PR, or a knife edge possibility of hard right government under FPTP. The country really can't afford the luxury of political parties' vanity when it comes to electoral pacts.

The annoying thing about #TheTraitors is that everyone thinks their incentives are to eliminate smart people: the Traitors in order to stop anyone putting 2 and 2 together, the Faithful because they confuse being smart for being a Traitor. So the Faithful get less watchable towards the end.

I work closely with my company's customer support teams as they escalate tickets (as well as regularly using Claude for coding work). While LLMs are incredibly useful when directed by someone who knows the product, the idea it could ever replace their ability to sherpa confused customers is madness.

Tuition fees are deeply regressive and hugely benefit those whose parents have a spare £45k lying around. We should have a graduate tax instead.
This is clearly depressing and radicalising in a way a tax wouldn't have been.

The 'give ice qr codes' thing reminds me of when Sarah Everard was murdered by a real policeman using his real police id to kidnap her, and the police & gvt made out the solution was to have a helpline to check that the person bundling you away was a real policeman (as the murderer was)
