This is a really excellent article by @papapishu.bsky.social, both about Silksong as a game and about the nature of how players endure and embrace punishment (though I consider myself a “game sicko” because I’m a “game pervert” who is also driven by getting achievements in punishing games).

The First Sinner might be my favorite Silksong boss yet. Varied moveset that never felt cheap, beautiful aesthetic, and, best of all, no runback after a loss. Got better and better every battle until I finally beat her while barely getting hit.
