Excellent analysis today from @atrupar.com in PN:

The GOP "has done untold damage to the nation over the past two and a half decades, particularly during its domination by Trump. America would probably be far better off sending it into the dustbin of history."

Sen. Roger Marshall on Trump's health: "I'll work 110 hours a week. He outworks me. He's the first person I've ever known that works harder than I do. He runs around that golf course. He's in incredible shape right now. And you talk about sharp! He's playing 4 dimensional chess"

Note this also applies to days when Republican reelection chances are not being set on fire. Any day you are not Mike Johnson means you haven't hit absolute rock bottom.
look however shitty your day has been or however bad your night is going just take comfort in knowing you’re not mike johnson

Note that a 14pt shift left in a red state is still catastrophic for the GOP: the only safe red states in such a wave (assuming even distribution) would be ID, OK, TN, KY, ND, AL, SD, WV, and WY.
looks like two completed counties (v red rurals) with Behn improving on Harris by 10 in one and 15 in the other -- huge shifts but not winning shifts

the Needle took a big dive to the right on the reporting of the Williamson County early vote, now R+5.7

Nayra Guzmán was 15 days post C-section — going to see her baby in the NICU — when she was taken to Broadview and held in custody for about 34 hours.

She slept on a bench and barely got food. She couldn't pump.

Her story is a rare window into the growing detention of pregnant & postpartum people.
Her baby was in the NICU. She was in ICE detention.
Before Trump took office, postpartum immigrants were rarely detained by ICE. Nayra Guzmán was detained while her 15-day-old baby was in the NICU.

In retrospect this cabinet meeting seems equivalent to Biden's team insisting on doing that debate with Trump, only with less of an audience for it.
I can't get over the fact that they scheduled a televised Cabinet meeting, hyped it as a major event, planned it all out to show how active and in control Trump is ... and then he dozed off in the middle of it. Repeatedly.

Our tax dollars pay for the Speaker of the House of Representatives to have a staff of dozens of people who keep him informed of current events around the clock, often even before they make the news.

It is offensive that our mainstream media never pushes back or even questions such an obvious lie.
RAJU: If defenseless survivors were killed, would that constitute a violation of the laws of war?

MIKE JOHNSON: I'm not going to prejudge any of that. I was pretty busy yesterday. I didn't follow a lot of the news.
