Ramblings about Dwarf Fortress, Doctor Who, Tolkien, roguelikes, and other nonsense. He/him

I notice in the recent patch notes for dwarf fortress that catapults with ammo stockpiles attached to pastures will no longer catapult baby animals that haven't been born yet.

So my /main/ question here is - does that mean you can fire animals that /have/ been born out of catapults?

I heard it was the plane toilet. It's why they don't allow you to use them before take-off. His bowels shot out of him like silly string

For all the “BlueSky is dying” haters it sure has the juice tonight. The memes and jokes are flying fast and furious and I’m here for all of it.

I knew you could convict animals and even corpses of crimes that happen in your fort, but I didn't know you could pull animals in for interrogations.

This guinea pig is hiding something...

I don't think I ever realized before that you could catch various vermin in Dwarf Fortress, and then tame them. Half my dwarves are going to have pet spiders or grasshoppers.

The other half already have pet cats. Nothing can possibly go wrong

Job Interrupted: Baby shoes for sale, not haunted
Dwarf Fortress's latest update, 53.09, introduces a notable change: mothers will no longer seek out the ghosts of their deceased babies, alleviating the emotional toll and potential chaos caused by this feature.
Dwarf Fortress kicks off another year of bonkers patch notes with the saddest 6-word story ever told: 'Mothers no longer seek ghostly babies'
For sale: baby shoes, haunting ignored.

Maybe my concept of Dwarf Fortress' 'Tone' is off, but I actually liked the new artwork before people got mad

Dwarf Fortress 53.09 is up. Lots and lots of routine fixes this time for lag issues, graphical issues, parents trying to pick up their ghostly baby, etc.

A pefectly serene dwarf, with absolutely no stress factors or unmet needs. Absolutely content with his life.

This state of affairs will last until I unpause, and start the game

I've watched my share of Minecraft videos in the past, but the OP is right, this is pure cinema
We ended up accidentally watching this whole video yesterday, and against all odds, it ended up being one of the greatest pieces of cinema I've ever experienced:

Stared at this for quite a few seconds going '"Wine"? What kind of wine? What fruit was it made from?' before registering 'Oh, from grapes, I guess'

I don't think I've ever seen /actual/ wine in the game before
