Longhorns, Bayern, politics, finance?
Very funny it’s still ahead of D’Souza’s crap.
Melania currently the 8th worst movie of all time on Metacritic (17043 out of 17050), with a Metascore of 4.

OK somehow I missed yesterday that this guy is the "Senior Space Editor at Ars Technica."

Unbelievably bleak. Does not understand the science sufficiently to understand "orbital data centers" as fundamentally idiotic.

Him, Cornyn, their ads all hit this and I am baffled about what year it is.
Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, who leads the Texas Senate, just released his first five big priorities for the next legislative session. Among them: “Preventing Sharia Law in Texas” and ensuring schools are teaching American and Texas exceptionalism.

I am very upset that The Pitt implies chilaquiles has any effect beyond “delicious.”

Over MLK weekend I went to the Johnson Space Center with my kids. It was incredible - they have an overnight where you meet an astronaut, ask him questions, do a bunch of physics and space activities. It won’t surprise you I have nerd kids and we all loved it (wife too! She planned it).

Interesting data point from the Argument polling. Twitter is absolutely not real life, and it is increasingly divergent from what most people think.

It is made more interesting when I searched to try to tag either Lakshya or The Argument and they…aren’t here?

It’s old news at this point but he is one of the dumbest people on the planet. And somehow that’s not a thing our media can state clearly.
Why would *checks notes* the Italian space pasta satellites do this

Everyone's going to be mad at this, but effective limits on ICE behavior are not going to be written in a couple of days to meet shutdown timelines. It's really important to think through things like enforcement mechanisms to make the laws work.
Latest intel: The 5 govt funding bills will pass, & the 6th, the DHS bill, will get a continuing resolution to buy time to negotiate whatever these conditions in ICE are. The fight right now btwn Schumer & the White House is how long that CR will be. The WH wants 3 months; Schumer wants 1-2 weeks.

This "popularist" movement is led by a guy who made a HUGE mistake in his own punditry (Iraq) by following the crowd instead of using his brain to think ahead.

And he learned absolutely no lessons from it. Persuasion or even time proving you right? Irrelevant. Just blow with the wind.
Have Jain/Yglesias/Shor nexus come out in favor of abolishing ICE yet or are they moving goalposts?
New poll — Abolishing ICE continues its historic surge of support.

46% support
43% oppose

80% of Democrats and 15% of Trump voters support abolishing ICE.
Independents are +8 on the question.

So is this a palace intrigue thing? She’s been cut out of Venezuela so needs to find a way back in?

This is another very clear piece of evidence that shows you this is not some capital/class-driven political project. This is going to destroy the economy of this town.

But they don’t care, because this is fundamentally a racist enterprise. It’s the core goal now - tax cuts buy them donors.
I know all eyes are on Minneapolis, but there's a fast-approaching nightmare in Springfield, Ohio.

Trump is revoking protected status for tens of thousands of Haitians living there on Feb. 3.

Reportedly, on Feb. 4, 1000 ICE agents are arriving to remove this population. Ethnic cleansing.

Second person I’ve seen posting this to dunk. Anyone want to guess what comes after that last sentence? It was cropped out of the other one as well.

There's a really interesting addition to this. Miller actually called Caputo after the story was published. You can see his replies in the picture. But I don't think I can recall any prior story where Miller did anything other than double- and triple-down on his villainy.

One thing that always sticks out to me is the distinction between "are you right about the narrow thing you've chosen to cover" vs. "is the thing you're covering important."

These guys, even today, hang their hat on the first question and seem baffled anyone would ask the second.
im sorry but we just spent the last decade being told the biggest issues were pronouns in emails and a trans kid playing jv lacrosse

if you said these things and got paid for it then you need to go away. literally if “woke mind virus” is something youve ever said unironically you need to go away

The problem is the game basically ended after three quarters. Which sucks for everyone, beyond just the bad football for a quarter.
Yeah anyone who says this weather makes for enjoyable football is lying. Ooooh you like watching dudes slip and throws fall short? BE FOR REAL
This is terrible football IMO

I would have thought that, as a pundit who got the Iraq War wrong by deferring to popular opinion at that point in time, MattY might have learned a lesson.

He did not, and the idea of “figuring out what’s right and stand for it regardless of polls” escaped him. Would have been useful this year!
One of the dumbest posts, if not the dumbest, of 2025 — and also one of the most damaging, in terms of curbing Dem willingness to lead public opinion on immigration. Look at where that graph is now!
