The new "Xbox" Rog Ally X is showing Bazzite running better than Windows apparently. Nadella is basically letting Windows be dominated by vibe coding at this point.

Amazing how MS doesn't really care about Windows running poorly, I mean obviously nostalgia but at least Vista had excuses.

*baffling we've been stuck on Shader Model 6.0 for a decade... hell I can't count even fully one hand games that have fully utilized DX12U Feature set (Mesh Shaders, Sampler Feedback etc). Alan Wake 2 did it greatly but the "un0mptimized!!!11!" just ruined things, c'mon GTX 10 gotta die eventually.

Hell if Valve really feels like it, they probably could make their on Steam Machine V2 with those RDNA 5 GMDs being rumoured (could get a modified Magnus SoC + whatever RDNA 5 GMDs avaliable) and screw up MS's crappy transition of their gaming division due to not caring about Windows much.

I mean 2027 or so it'll be very possible to build a top end Linux gaming PC rig, big problem you kinda forgo a lot of online games sadly due to anti-cheat (unless this changes somehow) which is the big issue than anything else.

I mean the weird thing is Shader Model 7.0 by MS is opening to new standards w/ SPIR-V (99% RDNA 5 & RTX 60 Rubin will support 7.0*) and Proton is very good at converting Windows gaming. I mean AMD setups run Linux great *and* RDNA 5 is competing with the high end with that leaked AT0 GMD...

Apropos of nothing, I really do think UK journalists and politicians need some reminding that mass deportation of LEGAL immigrants, particularly those with permanent status, is far more extreme than even Trump's America and would basically place Britain completely on its own among democracies.

Considering the budgets involved for the standards of Dr Who to stand out I think there's some at BBC who want it killed off and only doing Crime Dramas. Speculative Fiction TV Shows are sadly too expensive to do in the 2020s Vs late 90s-late 2000s.

To be frankly honest but there's a huge complacency of "nope, it will never happen in Scotland!" when one can look at RoI with Anti-Migrant stuff going on in there (frankly would not be surprised if RoI in the next decade gets a prominent far-right party).

I think there's huge complacency of a fresher (read no Salmond) anti-immigration, pro-Indy party that gets 10% of the vote that mostly eats into the SNP vote share.

Yeah, I think Scotland itself could see a party have a reactionary, "fresher" (read: not Salmond & Alba) pro-Indy party and take votes from the SNP and get like 10% of the vote.

Holyrood becoming extremely ungovernable is underpriced.

I just don’t think it’s unreasonable for police to look at what happened in the Netherlands, say it would be a huge and draining policing operation to handle it, and recommend against. And for local politicians to follow that recommendation.
