It would break the internet if any of the Dem guests on “Face the Nation” this weekend would reply to a Margaret Brennan question: “So, about Bari Weiss and the killed 60 Minutes story…”

IYKYK, although I don’t think Alec Baldwin wants the gig full-time.

Any high school kicker should know right now that they can start for Miami next year. 🤦🏼‍♂️

92%, 25k, and “two weeks” — yet the network media stenographers just keep repeating them with nary a question.

Intentionally so.

I share them all with my students. You have no idea how much a surprise sticker of a “Mola in a little hat” builds relationships (as if supporting your Patreon wasn’t reason enough).

“generally understood” is sure doing a lot of heavy lifting for the NYTimes here.

You might need to unpack “governing”
for some folks in the back.

As I’d noted last week, “governing” and “public service” need to be publicly defined for this cabal, along with identifying those defending the current definitions.

Now we know who was either asleep in class regarding the Tuskegee experiments or is so psychopathic that it’s okay for kids to needlessly suffer and potentially die.

This is the main issue — uploading draft manuscripts without approval of the authors, which then forever becomes part of the Cloud. Hard no.

*sigh* Let’s not discuss ducks right now, please.

A palate cleanser, of sorts.

Posts like this are why I love the BlueSky community. Happy holidays to all.

The silver lining in this might be to test the limits of white, Republican women and simple party loyalty. The fever needs to break sometime, preferably soonest.
For your collective delectation this holiday season:
Quite possibly the silliest thing I've ever written (and definitely the most ridiculous graph I've ever made!)

The take-home public message is that scientists “know things… subversive things” — very, and eerily similar to the sub-message about why the talking animals were caged in the “Wicked” movies.
Meanwhile, over at NSF…
NSF now planning to let POs largely decide what gets funded, and to send PIs reviews that are only 3-5 sentences long. They don't have to use outside reviewers (except maybe 1) and don't have to convene panels. (1/5)

I don’t understand why these “journalists” aren’t publicly laughed at by their colleagues. CNN is about to be neutered, which makes the point about Tapper especially relevant.

I seem to remember something about Jesus and kindness to strangers, too. Funny how selective memory (morality?) works.

From an objective political science perspective, this Administration has been a fascinating case-study on just how much a democratically elected government can govern against its own core constituency without penalty.

But yes, all of it is also awful.

Every new day is another perfect opportunity for the 25th Amendment.
Mel Brooks having to bury Rob Reiner is against all laws of nature and I’m not ok about it
The endgame here is getting the Supreme Court to declare that the entire civil service system is unconstitutional. Which is to say, this administration does not want us to be a modern, efficient, globally competitive nation-state.

The 90-year-old precedent protecting independent agencies is likely on its way out.

I’m sure that, somehow, this will be Biden’s fault.

Yes, security would normally be tight on those files, but so many of these MAGA are inherently, laughably incompetent.

I would love to ask these writers — or any current federal politician — how they define “service.”

I’m a South Florida guy — I still remember the sad Burdines-to Burdines-Macy’s-to Macy’s conversion.

I think about all the years - decades! - I’ve worked to share solutions to fisheries problems in other countries and show American good-will… then I see this “national security strategy” and become enraged anew. A hearty and repeated GFY to this “Administration.”
"It doesn’t seem to have occurred to the administration that spending the last several months going scorched earth on the rest of the world might make other countries the tiniest bit disinclined to deal with us."
We're the baddies now. Our new Security Strategy shows it.
It's a gift to the Kremlin and a middle finger to our erstwhile allies.

I’d love to see a poll with the binary of: (a) existing Constitutional democracy, or (b) TFG as “unitary executive” not needing Congressional or Judicial review.
