When I first spoke to @joshih.bsky.social in 2020, he'd just launched The Mill and was thinking of setting something up in Liverpool.

Less than six years later, today we're launching our seventh title in Leeds (@leedsnewlocalpaper.bsky.social).

At long last, we’re launching in Leeds! Ever since I started The Mill, people have asked us to create a publication across the Pennines.

If 500 people pledge to become members, we’re going to hire two journalists and do it. Please share with Leeds friends.

Fantastic to see my Mini Switzerland idea covered by the BBC.

It captures so many people’s imaginations because it’s both obvious, simple and yet - from where we are today - unspeakably radical.

#SophiefromRomania was overcome with excitement when our friends came round, especially when intellectual debate turned to the question of whether Spurs might get relegated

I agree

Only if you focus on sub-GM allocation of GVA in the stats, I think. The phenomenon is genuine

We had the friends round and #sophiefromromania had a lot to contribute
