I see lots of new followers popping up today. I assume you are here for the trade policy, in which case you might like my custom trade policy feed: bsky.app/profile/did:...

I have two Ghost sites that I don't see listed:

1. www.chinatrademonitor.com (hosted on Ghost pro)

2. ielp.worldtradelaw.net (not on Ghost pro)

Can I get those listed? Thanks!

Yes, it's good!

I feel like politicians should spend more time promoting things like Kagi than worrying about breaking up Google.

My big problem with Palantir is the specific services they sell to the government. I don't see how breaking them up would help here.

On Google, I have problems with specific practices, but I'm not sure how breaking Alphabet up would cause the smaller entities that result to change those practices.
Google and Palantir shouldn’t exist. It’s long past time to break them up.

My "..." t-shirt is answering questions people should be asking but aren't because they are pursuing policies based on ideology and lobbying.

I mean, I see it all now, but I thought ice cream cones and ice pops were good enough that people could enjoy them without worrying about these things!

I had heard the fruity alcoholic drinks thing, but I hadn't realized ice cream cones were so fraught with gender peril!
So many men go through life like that. You can play poker because it's right-coded, you can't enjoy fruity alcoholic drinks because they're women-coded, you can't lick an ice cream cone because it's gay-coded. All day, every day, choosing and judging things based on coding for narrow norms.

I think this hearing is likely to demonstrate that Republicans can't agree internally on any changes to health care policy, which means there's no plausible way forward here. But we'll see.
Bill Cassidy told me earlier this month that he planned to hold a hearing to help find a path forward on health care costs, as ACA subsidy cliff looms.

That hearing has just been announced — even as GOP scrambles to figure out what to do next, after White House’s stumbles this week.

The Wednesday before Thanksgiving is probably not the best time to kick off a blog debate on economic security in trade agreements, but nevertheless here's part 1 of two posts by Geoff Gertz of CNAS. Part 2 will come next Monday when everyone in the US is back online, so they can catch up then!

I'll pass, all yours.

Price discrimination based on government/industry judgment of your health-related activities is sure to be popular.
Markwayne Mullin on healthcare: "What the president would like to do is say, hey, if you take care of yourself -- you don't smoke, you don't dip, you're not drinking, you're not overweight, you're working out -- then you should pay less than the guy that obviously is not taking care of himself."

Have you tried it in a cobbler? Delicious!

No key lime and pumpkin for me, but no reason to get mad at me, it means more for you.
Apple pie is bad. This is not really debatable. So is key lime pie, while we’re on the topic. Pecan pie is the 🐐 tho.

I wish @scottlincicome.bsky.social hung out here more so I could prove you both wrong on this once and for all

Free idea for a can't miss CBS show:

"The Dersh Searches for Pierogies. Follow Alan to farmers' markets around the country as he looks for someone willing to have him as a customer."

All that charisma got Alan and Dana 1,300 views of their debate. Truly what America has been hungering for.

When people talk about the golden age of air travel, they forget that in real terms, a standard ticket then cost about as much as a first class ticket today. You can still travel that way, for about the same price.
