this is one very personal reason I read and write romance, to explore what a joyful and curious approach to sexuality can look like.
one of the things being a romance reader has taught me is that purity culture (all sex is bad) and porn culture (all sex is salacious/emotionally hollow) are just two sides of the same coin, and it's really not worth fighting with either group of people.
