For lawyers, AI use is like hiring an exceptionally incompetent associate. It’s all of the review, none of the billables.

I guess an inadvertent plus is that you get to replace your subject matter research with malpractice research.
yeah, I think this is also an important thing to keep in mind: what do most people in a given profession LIKE about their jobs? What do they NOT like?

you will not get a good sales response if you focus on replacing the stuff most people actually LIKE doing, instead of the stuff they hate doing
There’s a certain amount of “pick your suffering” going on.

I like the hard work of writing. I do not like the hard work of checking and improving AI output. (It’s not editing. Editing is a conversation with an author — maybe Past Me, but not a machine.)

They might be equal amounts of work, idk.

Or, and keep in mind this theory is undefeated: his brain is bad and he can barely identify a giraffe. He doesn’t know what’s in the files. He doesn’t weigh outcomes against each other. He’s just a dementia patient with malicious idiot henchmen.
The only explanation for why Trump is willing to take such a huge political hit keeping these Epstein files hidden is bcuz he knows what’s in those files about him is really, really, really, really bad. That’s the only explanation for this massive Trump led coverup.

‘28 Dem hopefuls, the correct answer is “I will let the highest bidder handle the crowbar on a per letter basis and eliminate the national debt.”
I doubt that any Democrat in the '28 mix would leave Trump's name on buildings. Questions are how they talk about taking it off, and what they say when reporters ask some version of "but wouldn't that further divide the country?"
There's a series of things (like the ballroom, Gulf of America) that we're going to have to *undo* the moment this guy is out of office.
And yet I can already hear future Democrat presidents saying "I'm focused on the people's work, not the knucklehead stuff" and just leave this man's shit up.

In order for America to actually heal its divisions, we need to reckon with its two original sins: the genocide of Native Americans by the initial government structures during and after the Revolution, and the deliberate sabotage of Reconstruction by the racist remnants of the South.

Prison for Bovino and friends is the moderate position.
Bovino, the man overseeing mass deportations, publicly declared that we must all have our papers on us, at all times, or we could be stopped, harassed, kidnapped, and detained, as they did with the man in this case, who is a US citizen.

Also worth pointing this out, Bovino is making shit up. “One must carry immigration documents” is not the law. The INA does not apply to most people, including the millions of Americans who have no “immigration documents” because they are citizens.

ultimately, no one even grieved Charlie Kirk. he was just another thing for the worst people on earth to get outraged over. and when the outrage of real events wasn't enough, they invented new ones.

not even his wife saw his death as anything other than an opportunity.
my read is they were trying to whip up the usual frenzy, but then the effort got blown up by Candace Owens saying The Jews did it
It’s kind of incredible how little has been published about this guy and how little conservatives seem to care. Did people just forget these people were screeching for civil war when they thought he was a liberal?

But also all of the SES who followed illegal orders should be fired and prosecuted. It is the only way to stop this from happening every Republican administration, to rebuild faith in government service, and bring back the institutional knowledge that was purged.
I am deadly serious when I say that any liberal Project 2028 people should be taking names of the civil servants who go way past their authority to do stuff like this.

That is very much not me saying that normal employees following bad orders should be fired. But there’s a line. This crosses it.
That should be a career ending act of corruption

This whole screed is dumb, but "are you okay with losing access to medication because the United States Government won't be able to afford it" is the dumbest. It is a rewrite of Ben Shapiro's "sell their flooded houses." It is a testament to the fact that rich people are lucky, not smart.
R U ok with paying 8 to 12 pct more in taxes and possibly losing your standard deduction ?

R U ok with losing access to different curative medications and care because the government can't afford to pay for them, even after taxing all the billionaires 90 pct?

GOP is responsible for widespread gerrymandering to minimize/exclude Dem votes (esp minorities).

SCOTUS blessed it where for political advantage—against Dem party hopes & args.

If Dem states don’t fully take advantage of new reality & gerrymander the heck out of their states they’re abdicating.

The failure to create good, new, or interesting art rarely stops people with capital from selecting a cheaper "artist."

In this case, it is true that AI is already being leaned on to replace artists and that AI is not doing anything good, new, or interesting.
"AI is a stochastic parrot, it can't make anything genuinely new or interesting" and "AI will replace human art" are fundamentally contradictory opinions to hold. Choose one.

FWIW, every state does constitutionally guarantee a public education system. The fact that idiot parents are willing to risk their kids health AND education simultaneously doesn't change that.
So to be clear: ACIP didn’t vote to remove the hepatitis B birth dose because of new safety concerns. They did it to make a political point about mandates. Thank you for saying so explicitly.

If the case is related to republican political interests, textualism does not matter. It is so silly that seemingly smart attorneys litigating in appellate courts cannot wrap their head around that.
the attempt by the attorney representing Rebecca Slaughter to use Trump v. United States for good is going sideways hard and it is making me even more confident in my opinion that there's no real upside to using Republican legal doctrine

it won't convince Republican judges

it's not meant for us
