The people running these companies need to be federally prosecuted. And no I don't care if this hurts your feelings about AI.
Uh… check out what ChatGPT allegedly told a man before he killed his mother and then himself.

Spotify is garbage on every count: Its treatment of artists, its ICE advertising, the CEO's investment in military AI, its leading role in the commodification and AI slopification of music, its terrible audio quality—you name it.

So I quit, and put together a complete guide to getting off Spotify:

It revealed that Suno has spent $32 million on compute, and $2,000 on training data.

Let that sink in.

It's unintuitive because it kinda murders the entire financial incentive structure of the internet and content creation generally!! . . . on which AI relies.

In some ways, this feels like harvesting and then salting the earth, for no other reason than there is a lot of salt lying around.

2. Sends him a huge check for his inauguration.

Hi. I wrote an essay about AI slop: How it feels like an invasive species for the internet. How its boosters describe building a future that’s devoid of craft. How frictionlessness can be nihilistic & how this stuff seems to leach part of our shared humanity out of the world. I hope you'll read it.
