The question does not make sense for me: TV series are supposed to go on forever in the background, you just tune in and tune out depending on how interesting things are and how much free time you have. I don't remember any finale, even the ones I think I saw
Given that apparently the Stranger Things finale was meh (idk, didn't watch it, just the scuttlebutt) and we're not that far removed from the disastrous GOT finale that retroactively made everyone have never cared about the show:

What's the *best* ending to a show you've ever seen? Quote/reply etc

Putin has been famously reticient about targeting Zelensky or breaking international law till now of course.
What a great day for Vladimir Putin! I can picture him in the Kremlin, watching the EU & the UK play dumb while Trump trashes Int. Law, their media reporting Maduro's abduction as an 'arrest'. I bet he's thinking: Should I also detain Zelensky and subject him to Russian justice?

this is exactly what's happening

Trump is at the perfect intersection of stupid and evil to believe this is true and good, and Marco Rubio is using that to try to start a run of wars of regime change in the Americas bsky.app/profile/inca...
Sure, but consider the possibility Trump does not in fact know a single thing about the oil market, and the Scheming Viziers (who have their own reasons to want war with Venezuela) are using oil as their way to sell him on this.

the idea that what's going on here is a war for oil falls apart the moment you learn literally any fact about the oil market

Plausible worst case scenario with Venezuela in four steps:

1. Rubio and Venezuelan exiles sell the idea of decapitation strikes against Maduro to Trump as the one big thing that solves Venezuela, cartels and Cuba for the US.

"Maduro is a brutal authoritarian dictator," I wisely intone, as the corrupt demented paedophile US President violating Constitutional Law while operating a gestapo and concentration camps illegally arrests a foreign leader on charges which read like they were written on a paper placemat in crayon.

Club MTV - Don’t Stop the Music (Rihanna)
MTV 90s - Goodbye (Spice Girls)
MTV 80s - Together in Electric Dreams (Oakey and Moroder)

Strong memories of this in my doctoral studies, also applying for jobs. Within academia, not working on Russia in my field wd get you laughed at.
Funnily, ordinary people (neighbours, nurses, any random 'what do you do?') thought it was fine to work on Balkan history
“Now let us consider the responsibility of academia in all these debates. Just imagine: From 1970 to 1980, US universities produced 900 books (roughly 90 per year) in the so-called field of Soviet and Slavic studies (colonial name, of course), and only 3% of them focused on non-Russians.”
An important text by Marina Solntseva on what anticoloniality and solidarity is not, and the mattering of indigenous lives in each and every context. Glad to see a link to our text with Selbi Durdiyeva that critically analyses selective anti-imperialism on the left berlinergazette.de/why-russias-...
