I don't think that we on the left appreciate just how psychologically destabilising COVID was for the right - for a year they were forced to act (in some places) as if their core assumption about the world -that there are better kinds of person- wasn't true, and they don't want that to happen again.
This is genuinely horrifying. Fact-free far-right agitprop given accolades by credible media across the political spectrum.
Congratulations to Stephen Macedo & Frances Lee, whose book In Covid's Wake has been recognized as:

A new year’s wish that we all start framing paying taxes as positive and patriotic contribution to a better world for all. Thank you Anthony Joshua! I’ve just paid mine too. They were quite a lot less than yours, but for some reason most historians don’t earn £68.5m.
He isn't "losing" this money. This is called "paying tax like a responsible citizen and not hiding your money offshore" and we need to start recognising and applauding it.

Reginald D Hunter: Summons against comic by Campaign Against Antisemitism quashed for seeking to have him 'cancelled'
The judge said the CAA "misled" him over comments Hunter made to Heidi Bachram on X, and failed to inform him of a previous compliance probe.

As with Twitter and now TikTok and CBS, they are practicing the Nero Doctrine. Anything that doesn't serve them, personally, does not deserve to survive.
We saw the prototype of the Nero Doctrine with Twitter. The goal wasn't to make it profitable or "free." The goal was to break the one place where news broke faster than the state could spin it.

They bought the town square not to speak in it, but to burn it down so we’d have nowhere else to gather.

Presumably the notion that there’s an epidemic of violent misogyny in our society, and that what the perpetrators overwhelmingly have in common is being men, would interfere with the narrative that it’s an imported problem caused by foreigners
This is the second story in three days The Times has carried arguing against misogyny lessons in schools, which it describes as "some weird feminist attack on male children".

Keir Starmer has deliberately chosen to let British citizens DIE to defend a foreign, Genocidal State with the "Most Moral Army In The World", led by "God's Chosen People"

This is why Centrist ideology should be eliminated
TOP HALF: British soldiers who have KILLED PALESTINIANS CIVILIANS

BOTTOM HALF: those OPPOSING the KILLING of PALESTINIANS CIVILIANS

Keir Starmer has chosen to protect the top half by arresting the bottom half

This is the death-cult of Centrist Zionist ideology

We said for years: don't normalise having these "debates" about trans people and immigrants. Everyone thought they knew better. And now it's absolutely normal to say trans people are deviants and immigrants are subhuman, and we're having debates about whether women can vote.
None of this is “good faith political debate,” and it’s not a coincidence that all these outlets are suddenly interested in the same “discussion” at the same time.

Treating women’s humanity like a thought exercise makes it that much easier to legislate away

This is a sobering and correct take that is less about the steadfast morality of truly fiscally aware and conservative old school republicans, but about the Dems lost in polling oblivion.
The reason Mitt Romney occasionally flanks to the left of centrist Dems is because he mostly sticks to things he believes in while centrist Dems have decided before an issue even exists that they're in the middle and then will reverse engineer their beliefs to fit that aesthetic.
