The way this shameless administration is just always trying to blow smoke up our collective asses is so undyingly embarrassing. Really? We’re that stupid? We saw the footage. They identified ALL 11 people on a moving boat & somehow ALL 11 “most wanted” “narco terrorists” were on some kill list -ok 👌

I never experienced the calls and texts I receive here in America when I lived in Germany. Zip zero none. Or in Japan. Privacy is protected in other wealthy countries - and scams (& unsolicited sales calls) are illegal and actively prosecuted. In America, we suffer because business is King.
I wrote this for the @nytimes.com: Scammers are calling seniors more than 50 times a day. Some who get scammed wind up with weird charges on their Medicare and mysterious packages on their porches

Of course, the feature these two wholly inconsistent rulings do share is clear: their outcomes advance Republican partisan interests (including Trump’s) at the expense of Democratic interests.

This is wild to me. “Customers resist products” - in what universe have we made companies so powerful that they can unilaterally force their products on us like we’re some kind of lower type animal?

The real question is not "Why is Bluesky so left-coded," the real question is "Why can't the right exist in a social media environment without algorithmic assistance, where people can ignore them"

I’m not really sure why this took/is taking so long.
There are now bipartisan investigations in both the House and Senate into the administration targeting and killing people in the Caribbean without due process.

Students will always find a way to cheat - if they aren’t taught young that a - it’s wrong & b- there is intrinsic value & joy in learning & c- cheaters don’t get ahead.

Our problem isn’t tech. It’s a sickness in Am culture where we’re taught to get ahead at all costs & principles don’t matter.
One professor at Rutgers University now requires students to attend a play whose ending changes every night, so she knows if they were there. Such retrenchments are likely to keep spreading

Misinformation is one of the world's biggest threats to public health. And governments are not doing enough to protect us.

Social media companies should be held accountable for spreading harmful misinformation in that same way we hold manufacturers responsible for spreading harmful chemicals.

We spent a year investigating billionaires for @washingtonpost.com.

We found: the wealthiest 100 Americans gave $1.1 billion to influence the 2024 elections — 140x more than they did in 2000. And almost all of that giving boosted Republicans.

Dept. of Ed is reclassifying all the female dominated professions (nurse, therapist, speech pathologist, PA) as not having “professional” degrees, which makes it harder for them to get educational loans.

Another FUCKED UP thing this admin is doing to attack women’s power.

Take that shit to court!

I’ve seen this reflected in society in the end of “awards ceremonies” at public schools across the US. No one wants to make the kids feel bad or not smart so we don’t award anyone publicly for achieving in education. The exception - athletics - those kids get tons of accolades - totally sucks.
Can’t believe the whole country has to suffer through the return of Dickensian childhood diseases because the worst, most ignorant attention-demanders decided other people’s expertise makes them feel bad

This is just awful for the generation that has grown up with Trump and any future we hope to achieve where people believe American government is a force for the public good - which was its founding intent.

NEW: Sean Duffy frequently calls safety his “top priority” as transportation secretary. But I spent months wading through regulatory notices and found something far different: that USDOT has been delaying, weakening and killing dozens of safety rules, many opposed by the transportation industry.🧵

To recap: My law firm represented Black and Latino voters in striking down Texas' new congressional map.

The dissenting opinion mentions George Soros 17 times and me and my law firm 3 times (all about how connected to Soros I allegedly am). I have never seen anything like it.
In a remarkable and deeply unconventional dissent, U.S. Circuit Judge Jerry E. Smith unleashed a blistering and bizarre attack on his fellow judges after a federal court struck down Texas’ unconstitutional racial gerrymander. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...

I can’t believe @harvard.edu supports Summers in a position of power over undergrad females with all that’s come out. They really have NO OTHER qualified candidates who could teach these classes? No one?
Hey @harvard.edu – You must fire Larry Summers. Now. To keep him in any capacity is to endorse his behavior and Epstein's crimes.

The Resolute Desk, a fixture of the Oval office since the Kennedy Admin, was removed for "cleaning and renovation". Strangely, no one seems to know where it is now. Reportedly, a "copy" has been seen at Mar-a-Lardo.
Considering how much of the Kennedy legacy has been destroyed, this is just another.

Engagement on our updates re: ICE kidnappings/fed siege of Los Angeles is significantly lower on Bluesky compared to Twitter. Do ppl on here not care about LA anymore? Are feeds being taken over by liberal commentators? What's going on?

Community members on the ground can't do it all. We need help.
The feds are escalating in Los Angeles. We've seen record high kidnappings and our communities are under attack. The media focus on LA has died down so electeds don't feel the need to even feign opposition.

People are out here fighting. We need all of us. Join the struggle. Defend your neighbors.

But Cook has been groveling more than strictly necessary.
