Consider how much this could transform how many things in how many places.

(Can we do the media, too?)
I wrote about a novel approach to tackling misinformation currently being discussed in Wales--and which some say Canada should try, too. What if we made a rule so politicians couldn't lie? www.thestar.com/politics/fed...
Is it time to make it illegal for politicians to lie to us?
That’s the question currently on the table in Wales, which has just released a draft of the “globally pioneering” sanctions for politicians.

Ellie Mulligan, 35, reportedly sentenced herself 15 years ago to life without parole, doing hard emotional labour for the crime of spontaneously choking on her own spit in front of a university crush whose name she now doesn’t remember.
Brutal! Autistic woman’s self-punishment does not fit the crime
An autistic woman who has reportedly been punishing herself for a decade and a half only committed a minor social faux-pas in the first place, it has been reported.  Ellie Mulligan, 35, reportedly…

Alt: from orphan black. a group of people are dancing in a living room. 1 of them is a cute twink (complimentary), and the other 4 are all women played by the same woman. so they're all cute, actually.

after you let me know which tech you mean, we can discuss how even calling it ai is a move by techbros to add allure to a tech that doesn't meet any of the pre-techbro-meddling defs of intelligence...
AI is a very general term, you have to be more specific. Do you mean the AI that stole my copyright, the chatbot causing teen suicide and psychosis, the deepfake porn of women without their consent, the bots driving political division or the ones polluting communities and driving electric bills up?

This. And slop is killing avenues for creatives. I think slush piles are a thing of the past. There's just so much slop. And teenagers weren't prepared for this cheat code to appear and bypass them learning.

when i read or watch sci-fi now, i find myself wondering what horrible thing in it some rich guy will think is a good idea actually.

and maybe part of why cosy sci-fi is having a moment is because it's less likely to be ruined by me focusing more on that than on enjoying the ride

The National Artificial Intelligence Association wants to “hire” an unpaid intern to handle all their customer relationship management.

Sure, give the unpaid intern access to your member list and their personal information. What could possibly go wrong
This job listing is a recession indicator. This is a bonkers responsibility list to end the description with it being an unpaid internship. It says internship at the top (screenshot cut off) but not UNPAID. And that application question? I can't. Be so fr rn.

and, honestly, so would anyone who just doesn't enjoy being unwell
Patient came in with sore throat. While waiting for rapid Strep test result we glanced back at the Covid-19 RAT result: positive. Reminder that masking in health care makes sense, if you don’t want everyone in your waiting room to go home sick, your staff to get sick, and physicians to get sick.
