NEW! Sworn declarations filed last night confirm the Trump admin sent INNOCENT people to rot in prison El Salvador, including a professional soccer player jailed and tortured by the Maduro regime, who entered this country LEGALLY to seek asylum, and who has NO CRIMINAL RECORD in either country.

Please watch this. I know you all already know this, but I think it’s important to understand and use the right language and to be able to support your stance with a full
understanding of the context and details of the examples you use. This is great, truly.

Today there’s a state house committee meeting where they are discussing removing state funding from institutions that don’t roll back DEI initiatives.

My daughter is in a living community for queer kids on campus, and if this passes, her entire living community could disappear. I hate it here.

I made a mistake. The first thing I read this morning was a Reddit thread full of people who support what’s happening to the U.S. or just don’t care. I feel so disheartened.

I can edit a story at home, but I can’t write there—too many interruptions and distractions. So today I’m sitting out in a half-abandoned parking lot looking out across a patch of forest so I can get this story out of my head.

I know it’s hard, and you don’t have to write every email and make every phone call, but find some that matter to you and do the work. It will be worth it, even if it’s difficult to see right now.

This will be one of mine.

This scrum of pot-bellied, sunken-chested betas trying to bully an all-black clad badass Eastern European wasteland survivor while dressed like Men’s Wearhouse mannequins is peak cinema.
GLENN: Why don't you wear a suit? You're at the highest level in this country's office & you refuse to wear a suit. A lot of Americans have problems with you not respecting the office.

ZELENSKYY: I will wear a costume after this war will finish. Maybe something like yours. Maybe something better.

We are actively seeking to leave the U.S., mostly for the safety of our kids. We’re looking at Brazil at the moment, but Argentina, Chile, and Ecuador are also on the list. We both speak basic conversational Portuguese and Spanish, so those seem like the most reasonable and affordable choices.

When I visit my dad, Mom is everywhere. I’m less sad than I thought I would be. In some ways it’s like she’s still here, like she’s going to come in from the front porch, take off her coat, and sit down to play cards. It’s almost like that.

Gov. Mills showed precisely the sort of integrity in the face of political pressure that the majority of the party currently lacks. More importantly, she did so extemporaneously and without hesitation from a purple state where this isn't a universally popular position.

Transphobia is a good enough reason to stand up. Protection of trans kids is a good reason to fight back.

But you are fighting for yourself too when tyranny is on the table.

If I had a band or a label, I would do a punk cover of "No More Kings" from Schoolhouse Rock. And then I would gather a bunch of people to write a whole album of next-generation Schoolhouse Rock songs, with songs about Social Security and Medicaid and NOAA. I am not kidding in the least.
