This is simply a lie. There was no “open borders experiment” and what he’s talking about affected legal migration, not illegal. The attack seems to be that this racist used to be insufficiently racist
“Robert Jenrick is the man who as Immigration Minister oversaw the open borders experiment that led to the biggest increase in illegal immigration in our country”

You’d think Labour might want to sit back and pretend to be reasonable while Jenrick and Badenoch knock lumps out of each other, but they decided to try and outflank them in the other direction by regurgitating a far right trope

This "open borders" line is *infuriating* - these people came here to study or work, because they had a uni place or a job to come to. They paid visa fees, student fees, NHS surcharge - and many of them are doing challenging and important work - staffing our care homes, for example, including Mum's.
Starmer keeps using this line, & it's bonkers.

Most importantly, it's untrue: the party that ended Free Movement, ran the "hostile environment" & made Suella Braverman Home Sec did not run "an experiment in open borders".

It's also politically mad. Voters who believe this will not vote for Starmer

The full list of World Cup qualifying nations swept up in the US visa ban - Iran, Uzbekistan, Jordan, Algeria, Cape Verde, Egypt, Ghana, Morocco, Senegal, Cote d'Ivoire, Tunisia, Haiti, Brazil, Colombia & Uruguay.

15 out of 42.

+ Bosnia, Albania & Kosovo, who are still in the UEFA play-offs.

Nice one, Wes

Going to get Jordan Peterson to address officials overseeing dietary guidelines next? Have Jeremy Clarkson set the environmental agenda?

Might as well do at this point. They've all sold loads of books too, that's all the qualifications you need, right?

This is daft of the provincial mayor, but the annoying underlying point is that the DfT didn't provide every local official (of all parties) with a personalised media kit for their region to use, and that Labour HQ didn't do the same with partisan messaging. Sheer, non-ideological, incompetence.

Road casualties are utterly normalised in political debate, but in England and Wales alone, on average around 80 people are killed or suffer injuries which could change their lives forever *every single day*. More should be done.

The “freedom of speech” argument here is extremely confused and also an absolute gift to the government’s opponents should it ever stop using X (which even purely for pragmatic reasons, it should have done months ago, as its messaging there just isn’t working and is a waste of resources).
The government minister says she believes in using X "because of freedom of speech". (There are many platforms - 4chan, Stormfront - which it does not use).

The government is being asked to
(i) uphold the law
(ii) undertake a good faith review of its own guidelines for govt communications
