Optimal learning thrives under just enough stress—too little, and growth stagnates; too much, and it overwhelms.
For me, growing up in a cowboy - ish small-town environment, where social options were limited, wasn’t easy, but equipped me for 'boys club' dynamics as a woman surgeon later on. 1/2

That when she grows up we can open a mother daughter yarn shop together and have lots of pretty rainbow wool for people to buy and also knit together 🥹😭🌈

I just can’t put a better one than that as an obgyn . But at the moment if i am giving a movie 7/10 , i am probably counting hours left in my shift ending🥱😂
I am an ob/gyn, if i give a movie 7/10 it means the bishop score is favorable but you still are 3cm away from delivery.
I’m an anesthesiologist, when I give a movie 7/10 it means I still have 3 ccs left in the syringe

As we gain expertise, the cognitive bandwidth required for surgery decreases. However, if a procedure demands 100% of your capacity to the point where you can’t communicate, that’s a risky place to be. How do you then 'fly by voice'—keeping the team informed of your progress, and what you need? 1/2
