Given everything happening right now, I updated this article with options for weather apps, web forms, and translation services — along with some tweaks to existing categories.

I hope it helps your transition off US tech!
Silicon Valley’s alliance with Donald Trump was a mask off moment and showed the world we can’t depend on US tech companies.

For the past few months, I’ve been trying to get off US tech and I put together a guide so you find alternatives too. I hope you find it helpful!
Getting off US tech: a guide
I’m in the process of dropping US tech services. Here’s how I did it, and options you should consider.

Rough vibes on this website today, likely because people feel Hopeless and Helpless Because Can't Stop It and No One Who Is Supposed To Is Trying To So Now We're Fighting Each Other™. I recommend activities such as book, or potentially instrument if you like instrument, or even do talk on phone.

Kenya and other African nations are being overwhelmed by imported textile waste.

Synthetic textiles don’t biodegrade, instead clogging up vast open-air landfills and leaching toxins into the soil, water and air, and posing a human health threat.
As Africa pays the price for rich world’s fast fashion fix, new French bill targets brands
NAIROBI — Mountains of waste stretch as far as the eye can see, smoking in places, giving off an acrid stench that stings the eyes and catches in the throat. These are the first sensations that…

It's Jevons Paradox. Renewables may be largely better than FF but the current system needs to be fundamentally changed for this to have a noticeable impact. We need to change the extractivist economic paradigm that continuously depeletes and destroys the planet's ecosystems. BAU will collapse us.

3. It's actually a new fossil fuel scheme, which will cause a significant net rise in emissions. The starting price for the UK taxpayer is £22 billion, and it would be suprising if the total cost is less than £50bn. It depends on decades of imports of liquefied fossil gas from the US.
