The Brexit latest seems to have moved from strong independent sovereign nation to country entirely dependant on US funding and defence for its survival. Thanks.

If Denmark can get farmers to agree to dropping their nitrates derogation, adopting a carbon tax on meat, government promotion of plant-based diets and rewilding a fifth of the country - why can't Ireland?

This was announced 12 days ago and really ought to have received more attention.
The UK & other rich countries just gifted U.S. corporations’ a major exemption from int'l tax rules.

The UK was already haemorrhaging an estimated $9 billion a year to tax-cheating US megacorps.

We are watching one of the wildest things a nation-state has ever done: A superpower is committing suicide because the GOP Congress is too cowardly to stand up to the Mad King.

This is one of the wildest moments in all of geopolitics ever.

It’s now easy to see in real time how the Nazi’s were able to do what they did.

You often wondered how the people of Germany allowed it.

Now we can see.

You can judge a person by the size of their moral circle. Trump, for instance, has the smallest possible moral circle, containing only him. Be the opposite: expand your circle. Include, for example, animals currently raised for food. We shut them out of our consciences. It's time to bring them in.

Performative neutrality isn’t neutrality. It’s an active alignment with the status quo and existing power structures.

When scientific institutions do this, they don’t protect credibility or public trust; they undermine both, weakening science’s legitimacy as a force for the public good.
"I'm afraid there's many bad people around, but they have made scientific advances." - President of the Royal Society.

The Royal Society continues to be happy to be associated with, indeed honour Elon Musk with fellowship, despite the Grok scandal.

I will never understand this.

Also, pet food is largely made of human food leftovers - the problem really is human animal meat consumption, but hey let's go with pets and keep those chicken wings for dinner.
I already feed my dog "standard dry kibble foods", as do most all responsible pet owners.
