The past couple days have made it clear that arresting and prosecuting Johnathan Ross isn’t just the right thing to do, it is necessary to prevent future violence by ICE who have interpreted the situation as “we can do that to whoever we want”
A woman recording an ICE agent tells him "Shame on you."

The agent responds, "Have you all not learned from the past couple of days?"

"Learned what?" she asks

Then he knocks her phone out of her hand

Who would cover it? The Jeff Bezos WaPo? The Sulzberger family NYT? The Ellison CBS News? Any of the thousands of Sinclair local TV news affiliates? The Soon-Shing LA Times?

They’re destroying our society by destroying our media.
Kind of wild there has been almost no coverage of the fact that the federal government unleashed chemical weapons against literal kids *at school*.

When Vance insists, contra the videos, that Good threatened the ICE agent and "had it coming", what he means is that he, like Ross, feels threatened by any woman who has the audacity to use her voice in the public sphere.

This deeply misogynist worldview is core to MAGA.

The most enlightening and disappointing thing to come out of this ICE shooting is that the right legitimately does not give a fuck about human life if it harms their political narrative.

Watching people malign a 37 year old mother for being murdered by her country is insane.

1. ICE will kill you.

2. Trumpists will lie to justify it.

3. Because they are all thug trash.

Sad to see that people can’t be friends with somebody just because they disagree over politics (whether or not it’s good for a fascist goon to shoot a lady in the face and murder her).

AOC: This has now become what we feared most about ICE for a long time—that it would be used as an anti-civilian force with no accountability. At the end of the day, what we saw today was a murder, and murders in cold blood need to be prosecuted.

Their article ab Jim Jordan getting us shut down was by Julia Steinberg, a conservative student we hired (since our projects weren’t partisan!) who chose to lie & say we were involved in Hunter Biden’s Laptop & lab leak thing. Neither was true. No request for comment.

Infuriating
It’s genuinely wild that the United States spent decades building an elaborate rules-based international order which de facto cemented its permanent status as the dominant global hegemon, sustained by ideology rather than might, and now is just blowing it all up for literally no reason

This "big picture" monologue/analysis(?) is a lot more problematic than the b-roll and graphic miscues:

In it, Dokoupil says that China and Russia were "building a presence in Venezuela"? Says who? From where? How? And why?
"First day... first day, big problems here. Uh, are we going to Kelly here or are we gonna go..."

yep. i can identify any number of structural issues but at the end of the day the basic problem is the republican party. this has been apparent for at least 20 years. it is also an incredibly unpopular observation to make among “serious” people.
Right.

If you want a good explanation of why the American system of government worked well enough for 200 years and then suddenly stopped, it's because Republicans in Congress suddenly started letting their partisan interests COMPLETELY override their institutional interests
a lot of problems wouldn't exist if we had a congress with even an ounce of self interest

What a fucking idiot. Daycare centers should have a staffed reception area? For what business purpose? Foot traffic impulse childcare purchases? And at what cost (square footage, staff salary, etc.)

Just the dumbest fucking people.
CNN: “Surely you don’t think a daycare should be unlocked.”

SHIRLEY: “There should be a reception area.”

CNN: “No, every day care is locked.”

SHIRLEY: “Fair point.” 🤔

He shows up to a day care with masked men and wonders why they don’t let him in.

Jan Crawford is a shoo-in for the FIFA “Integrity in Court Reporting Prize”
NEW: Jan Crawford's attack on SCOTUS "corruption" narrative was its own substance-free narrative.

On Face the Nation, CBS News's chief legal correspondent went after Supreme Court critics as "dangerous." And yet, her court defense was completely lacking in specifics.

Th absolute gall to assert that she is “restoring integrity” to the news.Somehow both patronizing and oblivious.

I think she shares certain personality traits (disorders) with Trump.

I am deadly serious when I say that any liberal Project 2028 people should be taking names of the civil servants who go way past their authority to do stuff like this.

That is very much not me saying that normal employees following bad orders should be fired. But there’s a line. This crosses it.
That should be a career ending act of corruption

It could be the greatest corruption of American foreign policy in our history. Russia gets Ukraine. Trump's friends get rich.
