I put up my Christmas tree and wore my putting-up-fake-tree outfit.

Is it a festive sweater?

Nope.
It's a long sleeves, pants, a mask, & gloves. 😆

Once, I told a coworker how I got a rash on my arm after putting up my tree.
She said she always layers up bec she reacts to the chemicals.
So smart!

Decided to treat myself for my upcoming birthday and bought myself 2 Calvin and Hobbes books from @audreysbooksyeg.bsky.social

Then I went to Duchess Bakeshop to see this year's gingerbread concoction.
I love The Grand Budapest Hotel.

It's true, I became a librarian partly for the money, that's how bad I am at making money.

Highlander is a Christmas movie. No, I don't think I'll elaborate.

My Spotify Unwrapped indicated I listened almost a day's worth of music and podcasts in 2025, which sounds about right.

I usually listen to the radio.
And CDs (I actually purchased a new one last month. And an audiobook on CD, which was hard to find).
Yay for physical media.

I've been looking for something and thought maybe it had rolled under my bed.
So I moved my bed.
Didn't find the missing thing.
Instead, found a whole lot of dust bunnies. 😬

I did multiple loads of laundry in the past couple of days and even put most of it away.

Not all of it because, come on now, I haven't done that in ages.
I'm not going to start *that* habit now!!

Merriam, a career-oriented lexicographer from the city, returns to her small town for the holidays and meets Webster, a ruggedly handsome librarian, who shows her the true DEFINITION of Christmas.

@rexlibris.bsky.social This entire thread is giving me flashbacks.
It was a time.
Recently I've read a number of books and articles expressing net-nostalgia, about how better everything was online in the 90s. For those who missed it, let me explain how literature searches worked back then. Thread 👇

I know why people use subtitles when they watch TV & Movies. Simple. Seems like the entire film industry "PROS" have FORGOTTON how to mix. The music is too fucking loud & the voices not loud enough.

Bullshit on everyone's system is different. Fucking mix it in MONO & make movies people want to see.

It's one of the rare times of year when I go to the mall.

And every time I mutter to myself "That store used to be X." and "Oh, Store Y moved."

And of course "I miss HMV."

I used to be a mallrat, as much as any teen in the 80s and 90s.

Now?
I have a list and try to get out ASAP.

Twitter accounts are based in Russia. BlueSky accounts are based in homes with, frankly, too many books, plants, obsolete cables, and pieces of rustic pottery, that could do with a bit of a tidying up, to be honest.

I like snow. If only to cover the dead grass and help reflect light so it's not so dark. So I want it to snow soon.

What's funny about watching Hallmark movies is that when it starts to snow, it's seen as magical and not followed with lines like "the roads are going to be bad."
