Generations of Navajo miners were sent underground to extract uranium for America’s weapons and energy programs. Many were never told the risks. Many never made it out alive.

people who say this to me are not looking for permission to watch the thing or read the books. no one can stop them from doing that. they are looking for a hearty thumbs up, a pass on their guilt, but you can't stop me from thinking you're a fool who's not to be trusted
when that show comes out i better not hear a fucking word about it. no memes. no edits. "it was so important to my childhood--" okay well human rights are important to my adulthood??

Oh yay, my health insurance is going up $130 a month, with no change in benefits, while we make the same poverty level wage. 🫠

#SpoonieAuthChat I don't write holiday stories, but my slice-of-life romance novel, One Bullet, did end up going into the holiday season. So there's some background holiday stuff happening, but it's certainly not a focus. Shawn and I share similar sentiments about this time of year. 😅
Spoonie Author Chat (for creatives who manage spoons), December 1, 2025:

Do you ever write stories that take place during the end-of-year holiday season?

For the first time since 1993, the Trump admin has issued instructions *not* to commemorate World AIDS Day.

Erasing our history won’t erase the epidemic. Silence = Death.

Today, however, Lambda Legal honors the ongoing fight for the rights and dignity of people living with HIV. ❤️

one insidious thing about gen AI is it's not just causing us to mistrust dodgy images, it's also making us mistrust images that look perfectly normal. this is gaslighting in a very literal sense bc the technology is undermining the trust we have in our own ability to perceive reality!

"Black Friday" predates shopping deals. 🛍️ The term originally referred to the 1869 U.S. financial panic & stock market crash.

Black Friday is also a 1904 novel by Frederic S. Isham, inspired by those events.

The Inquisition Trilogy is contemporary fantasy, so the military fights with modern hardware + magic. Sure, you armor the vehicle, but mages can add magical shields. You might get hit by a fireball as likely as a mortar. Mauled by a werecreature. Y'know, just the usual. 😅
Is there a military or other fighting force in your book's setting? How do they function? How do they fight? #WritingPrompt

AI is ruining my life and the lives of pretty much everyone I care about and we're way too far past the point of being lenient because 'maybe they don't know better'. I'm not screaming any louder for your fucking benefit. I'm too damn busy failing to keep my head above water.
"Oh you're just gonna end a friendship because of AI"

Let me tell you something... If I can't fucking *respect you*, we can't be friends. And shilling AI is one of the quickest fucking ways I'll lose every ounce of respect for someone. Simple as.
